Help the Whales! Overturn Supreme Court Decision Allowing U.S Navy to Conduct Sonar Training

Target:
President- Elect Barack Obama
Dear friends,
please take a moment to read and sign this petition in hope that something will be done to help the whales that inhabit our oceans in the aftermath of the U.S Supreme Court's Decision to allow the navy to conduct sonar training.
Dear friends,
please take a moment to read and sign this petition in hope that something will be done to help the whales that inhabit our oceans in the aftermath of the U.S Supreme Court's Decision to allow the navy to conduct sonar training.
We, the undersigned, strongly urge you to appeal to the Supreme Court to overturn their decision allowing the U.S navy to conduct far- range sonar training off the coast of California, which has proven to be extremely harmful to whales and other marine life, including a number of endangered species. In the event that this cannot be done, we ask that you intervene in the courts' decision so as to add strict and specific limitations to the navy's activities, such that the effects of their sonar exercises may pose the least possible threat to marine life. This is an issue of global concern and we, the citizens of the world, thank you in advance for your response to it.

Please stop Navy sonar from harming whales! The Navy wants to significantly increase activity on the entire West Coast, putting threatened sea mammals and sea life in danger. I live in Oregon. The Navy wants to increase their activities within fishing zones too, putting fishermen and women earning a living in danger too. Enough! People, sea life, including Whales have a right to a safe environment in and on the ocean too!!! Please stop this foolishness. We, the taxpayers, do not want to pay for and will not tolerate more war time activities in our coastal regions! Don't threaten Whales! Save these majestic creatures! SAVE THE WHALES!

Please somehow help reverse the Supreme Court's decision to allow the navy to conduct sonar training. I take issue with their decision because it is not right. The whales need HELP..this will only destroy them. It is bad enough that Sarah Palin has no concern for the Beluga whales. Does our Navy and Supreme Court have the same lack of concern for our wildlife? I hope not, but as of right now it appears that way. It is not too late...PLEASE HELP! Thank you.

How terrible to endanger these beautiful creatures! I hope this decision can be overturned because it is callous and cruel.

Whales are a majestic gift, we must cherish them and not treat them like trash. They beach themselves after their ears burst from sonar, because deep in the ocean there is no light, and so instead they use sound to communicate and hunt. This is a travesty because they are so intelligent and social, they form tight bonds and are very dedicated parents. Not only must we stop the sonar, we must stop all hunting of whales, there are only a handful left, and future generations will be very sad if the seas are barren of these magnificent giants. Thank you for reading my plea, I hope you can help.

Please reconsider the Supreme Court decision that allows the Navy to continue its sonar testing in the ocean. This sonar testing causes great pain to Dolphins and Whales. I imagine it is many times worse than some of the worst migraines. Given that it can kill these beings sometimes, it must be incredibly devastating to them, whether or not it kills them. It undoubtedly affects them in ways that we cannot even imagine, and certainly interferes in their communications with each other, and thus with their society functioning. This is not something that would be considered acceptable if it were happening to humans in this country. Please include humaneness in your decisions to the other beings in this world who make our lives so much richer. Hopefully we humans can reverse our trend and increase the quality of life for other beings as well. Please do not allow the Navy to continue testing its sonar in the ranges that are so terrible for Whales and Dolphins. Sonar testing truly is not something that makes the world a better place. The benefits it may provide some humans comes at great expense to either other humans or to nonhuman beings. Thank you.

This is slowly killing these beautiful animals that was created from the same entity as "we" humans are.. This needs to stop, for it is nothing but a slow death if it continues... How does anyone involved sleep at night??

Les baleines sont en danger d'extinction ,et rien n'est fait pour les protéger. Si rien n'est fait d'ici deux où trois ans il n'y en aura plus, et alors quel malheur pour la diversité! nos enfants nous reprocheront notre inaction !
