It's wonderful to see that the owners appreciate the history and craftsmanship of the building and are willing to put the extra effort into preservation.

Too much of architectural history especially in Long Beach has been lost and it is imperative to preserve what little is left.

My great-uncle Raymond Mussetter and his extensive family would be extremely pleased if Long Beach Historical Society would designate Brown's Court Apartments as an Historic Landmark. Please consider this request not just from a personal level but from a person who values history. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Derinda A. Weber (Menges) Grandaughter of Nellie Menges (Mussetter) the sister to Raymond and Anna Mussetter.

I attend Osher Lifelong Learning Institute 9OLLI- formerly Senior University)at CSULB. One of my neighbors, Sharron Leno and I decided to offer Saturday morning walking tours to Historic Districts. We offered the class in the Fall of'o7 and Spring of '08 and are offering it this Fall session. It begins on October 25 with a classroom lecture by John Thomas, new President of Long Beach Heritage. One of our walks will include Belmont Heights. For further information on the class and OLLI call 562-985-8237. Good luck. Your endeavor is worthy.

Long Beach's officials are in dire need of the motivation to save more of the historic gems in this city like Brown's Court Apts. Hopefully this petition to save Brown's Court can save the apartments and also send a message to our elected officials to empower our able historic perservation staff. Thank you.

What a wonderful way to recognize the history and charm of turn-of-the-century Long Beach! Please grant the designation of Hisotrical Landmark to this well-preserved example of our boomtown past. Let's celebrate diversity in our architecture as we do in our citizens. Thank you.

The Brown's Court Apartments are a wonderful example of spanish architecture and how many of the denizens of Long Beach lived years ago. The importance of maintaining the historical integrity of Long Beach communities cannot be overlooked nor underestimated. Homes such as these give true meaning and understanding to how people lived in the past and contrast the simplicity of past needs in housing with the desires of the modern world.

I think people care more about their neighborhoods if the neighborhood has character.

This is the exact type of efficient use of space and architecture we should preserve!

I am very passionate about great examples of historical architecture. The Historic Brown Court Apartments remind me of my grandparents wonderful court on Ocean Avenue overlooking Palisades Park and the Pacific Ocean. It is truly a living link to our rich past and must be presevered. Life is about balance - preserving the past and embracing the future.

Please grant this treasure historical landmark status. It is a perfect example of what multi-family homes should be and can be again. All future developments of multiple units should follow designs modeled after the courtyards of the past. Let's put an end to destroying architectural gems, such as these bungalows, to put in higher density units which create overcrowding and diminishes sense of community.
