The electric car GM squished in 1988

Hold out for an affordable electric car

Target:
The automobile manufacturers

We, the undersigned, are NOT going to buy another darned gas-guzzler, or even a gas-sipper- we are waiting for a reasonably priced electric car, and will nurse our present ride until one becomes available!

If my current car croaks, I'll find a high-mileage used vehicle, but I'm NOT going to buy new petro-car, as I KNOW gas prices are only going up, and that every dollar spent on gasoline supports both sides in the so-called "war on terror"

We the undersigned...

are mad as hell. We're tired of waiting for a decent, affordable electric car, but we're going to wait anyway. We're not going to buy a new vehicle until you give us what we really need, which is a pollution-free non-gasoline car.

We'd even settle for GM's EV1, which pleased it's drivers 10 years ago- but if you really want to stay in business you better wake up and smell the exhaust fumes.

Thanks!

I WILL NOT buy another gas-guzzler, or even a gas-sipper- I am waiting for a reasonably priced electric car, and will nurse my present ride until one becomes available! If my present car dies; I vow to buy a used car and will continue to do so until you have manufactured an affordable electric car that runs on solar.

Right on!!! When I see an ad touting a car that gets something like 36 mpg, I scoff. The Honda Civic hybrid and the Toyota Prius hybrid get upwards of 50 mpg, so anything less than that is a joke! It is past time to stop building vehicles that run on fossil fuels and make the switch to green energy!!! And if you *really* want to reduce your carbon footprint, stop eating meat! The greenhouse gases that come out of cows far outweigh what comes out of a tailpipe. I read somewhere that eating one pound of cow flesh was the same as driving a Hummer 40 miles, not to mention the water and grain used to feed those cows. Sorry to go off on that rant, but I felt the need to add that. Go vegan!

There are all kinds of non gas cars available now. We need to get everyone involved in not supporting the gas driven industry. Like not buying anything at the gas station - buy at the grocery store instead. Call your local government and insist on them changing the traffic signals so we don't waste gas sitting there when nothing is coming. If everyone buys all the gas saving things we can find and rides bikes when we can Etc. cut down consumption and stop going to car shows unless there are no gas cars there... Please add your ideas and let's make a list all in one place of things we can do to eliminate all gas and oild related industry spending...

DO NOT, I reapeat, DO NOT tie up your hard-earned money in a petro-car. In 2-5 years we will see them go the way of the typewriter, into total obsolescence. Smart money stays in your pocket, don't invest in the last hurrah (except collector's items, maybe....).

You car companies push toward hybrid technology but what are you getting out of these insane profits from oil companies? Eventually there will be no more Oil we all know this so what will you come up with next? Give us what we want there is a huge demand but no Supply thats basic economics it's high time you guys get on the ball.

I look forward to having the best possible vehicles on the road, whatever the best combination is - electricity, batteries, combined with fuel. If the US car industry doesn't do it, somebody for sure will. We know we already have the technology to do this. I'm ready to buy.
