SUNTEM UN GRUP DE PROTECTIE A ANIMALELOR SI VA CEREM SA LUATI MASURI DE STOPARE A UCIDERII CAINILOR FARA STAPANI SAU AL CELOR DIN ADAPOSTURI, CHIAR IN CONDITIILE IN CARE ADAPOSTURILE NU CORESPUND LEGII IN VIGOARE. VA RUGAM SA GASITI ALTE SOLUTII, ALTE LOCATII, DAR NU PUTEM PERMITE CA ROMANIA SA DEVINA DIN NOU, ASA CUM A FOST CONSIDERAT MEREU UN ABATOR AL CAINILOR FARA STAPANI.

   WE, THE UNDERSIGNED ASK THE CLARIFYING OF THE DOG-MASSACRES FROM THE TULCEA SHELTER AND FROM TARGU-JIU, THE  OF THE
THE LAW FOR THE ANIMAL PROTECTION, WHICH TRIES TO PROVIDE BETTER CONDITIONS FOR THE ANIMALS, SHOULDNT BECOME A REASON TO ELIMINATE THE UNWANTED STRAY-ANIMALS. THE CONDITION IN THE SHELTERS MUST BE IMPROVED, IT IS NOT A SOLLUTION TO KILL THOSE  DOGS. WE ASK THAT OTHER ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS BE FOUND TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION.
  WE WILL FOLLOW CLOSELY THE EVOLUTION OF THE SHELTERS IN ROMANIA AND WE WILL ASK THE INTERNATIONAL FORUMS TO INTERVENE WHENEVER NEEDED.

A former employee of the public dogpound in Tulcea
said the animals were brutally killed a few days ago,
and the bodies were carried by truck to unknown
destinations.
The head of the department of city hall in charge of
the dogpound couldn%u2019t be contacted.
People of Somova-Tulcea shook with horror finding out
in forest tens of plastic bags with dead dogs. The
village people say the animals were brought from the
city, Tulcea, and left there.
People%u2019s suspicions are confirmed by a former employee
of the public dogpound in Tulcea.
He says that 2 weeks ago the dogpound was closed, due
to poor conditions in which the animals were kept. In
dogpound there were 200 dogs of which the employees
got rid of in the cruellest possible way.
Even though the mayor of Somova, the village where the
dogs were dumped, informed the Guard for Environment
and the Sanitary %u2013 Veterinarian Direction, no
inspector of these institutions has got to the site.
Now there are still 20 dogs in the dogpound.
