If we bailout AIG and all the other backrupt companies ea. (Airlines, Banks, Savings and Loans) We're just hurting ourselfs. We can't even help ourselfs with the homeless, eldery, sick and poor. We send more money overseas to help other contries that don't even help us when we need help ea. (Twin Towers 9-11-01, Katrina and the California fires) What foreign countries came to our needs or even offered to help? We as a nation maybe the riches country in the world, but we need to look at our own nation to help! We give our congressman free medical and they don't pay into Social Security ( they have their own form of retirement plan THE U.S. PEOPLE). Expresidents receive their salary plus CIA Protection until they die. We as tax payers pay for this. Then we give the widows of the expresident's the president's salary to her until she passes! We elect these people as a nation and they take special interest groups and get extreme donations to their campain and/or pocket moneies and/or get favors from the groups! What happen to the people that elected these Congressman? Are we being represented like we should? Do we really need a congressman to service as long as they do? The President of the United States can only serve a total of 10 years ( Two full terms 4 years each and 1/2 term of another President.) I feel that we as a nation should set a term limit on all congressman. Once they leave Congress they should be on their own back to being a citizen of the United States. They had jobs before we elected them. They can go back doing what they did before becoming a Congressman. I feel that the middle class citizen pays for most of the taxes and they have to foot the bill for most of this. Tax laws are so confussing to the normal citizen that the IRS does what they want. The rich and big companies get richer with tax exemptions and loop holes that Congress voted in ( Because their rich and/or get kick backs.) Now the goverment wants to be bailout these companies for mistakes that the company made and the People of the UNITED STATES foot the bill! BULL!!!! I feel this country needs a shake up and we should start with the Congress! Setting term limits for all Congressman. Not letting them vote themself's raises and quit footing the bills for their healthcare. We as citizens can make a differance. Maybe I'm wrong in all of this! But, I see things that may need to be fixed in all of this! Maybe not. It doesn't matter what party you belong to!! It's OUR COUNTRY and the goverment is elected by us for us! I feel the goverment is corrupted! America is the best country in the world to live in! I'm proud to be an American!! What happen to America the HOME of the free and brave? When was the last time you said the Pledge of Allegiance. What happen to the Constitution of the United States? It keeps getting added to and changed. Our forefathers wrote this and it was simple back then Now people want to change it or interpit it different ways. Remember the KISS method (KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID)Legal terms and interpitations complicate things. GUNS don't kill people, Penciles don't cause mistakes and we the people didn't cause the financial problem! Why should we the People bail them out? The President cannot do anything about this except use the 'bloody bullpit'. I am so very unhappy and disappointed with Bush for going this socialistic direction. It is CONGRESS - House and Senate that passes laws. God Bless those Democrats and Republicans who refused to let this bill pass. Our economy has gone down the toilet since 2004 when the Dems took both houses in Congress. Just look at the facts. They have talked DOWN the economy hoping those who listen to the ABC, NBS & CBS 30 min evening 'news' who DO NOT report both sides and their minds of MUSH are convinced it is all the president's fault. WAKE UP PEOPLE...... Learn about our government and how it works...... Learn how this problem started...... during JimmyCarter trying to allow people who COULDN'T AFFORD A HOUSE to become a home owner ........... and little by little .... little bill passing in congress by little bill passing ........ like a frog in a pot of water doesn't know that he will be food soon but ENJOYS the water under a fire....... Clinton and the Dems back in 1997 pushed a law in DEMANDING Banks loosen credit limits for ANYONE (illegal or not) to buy a mortgage so they could claim that they helped more people get into homes. Not figuring out that many COULD NOT afford what they were literally given as the house payments. This is what socialism is all about. The GOVERNMENT will take care of you from cradle to grave. That is NOT Freedom. Next will be that the GOVERNMENT can tell you which doctor you can go to. Then where you can work and for how much pay. Taxes go up and up and up because the PEOPLE need more and more and more. China workers get paid about $30 a month because all the money goes back to the GOVERNMENT who tells them they can have only 1 CHILD per couple. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mae (government associations) GUARANTEED the banks if they just kept giving more and more people these mortgages they would be good for the failed mortgages. Democrats have been in charge of these companies and literally making MILLIONS when selling the bad mortgages to other banks and foreign banks. These criminal thieves should be tried and put in jail for grand larson and fraud. I would LOVE to see some of them lead away in the bracelets reserved for the guilty. Democrats Barney Frank (head of the Banking Committee), Chris Dodd (head of the oversight committee) refused to acknowledge there would be a problem later. You see them talking to the talking heads on ABC, CBS & NBC screaming that it's BUSH'S FAULT and all because it is an election year and they want OBAMA elected. Dem Senate Charles Schumer (NY) started making statements that the banks are in trouble causing runs on banks earlier this year. Both sides have been at fault. Bush and the Republican's have acted like they have had a blank check for everything under the sun - and a day of reckoning is coming and we MUST not allow the greatest country ever to slip into a world government. Allow THE AMERICAN people to take it in their hands for a while. Politicians had their turn and I'm not saying they alone failed, but it's not working. Our country needs a change and a BIG one....is this not the perfect place to start?

This makes perfect sense to me and my family. Why not put it back in the taxpayers hands instead of bailing out a financially unstable company who are at fault in the first place. We, the tax payers, are ultimantely paying for their inadequate accounting practices anyway.
