SHAVONS LAW
I have  decided to start this after the tragic death of shavon miles who was 13 yrs old  had a decade of abuse and involvement with d.c.f.s. removed from her mothers care shaken as an infant blind suffering seizures due to s.b.s. her and her twin brother  covered in cigarette burns she weighed only 72 lbs from starvation bruises fractures everyone made those calls they went unanswered d.c.f.s. did not need a court order to remove shavon from obvious threat of harm state social workers had they actually done the job the state of illinois pays them to do were supposed to check shavon for marks and signs of abuse how could they not notice how thin she was or all the burns old and new  this law if put into place would hold d.c.f.s. workers responsibile when they fail to protect a child resulting in that childs death they would be charged and sentensed the same as the abuser as well as day care providers who are under d.c.f.s. supervision when a allegation of abuse physical or sexual that day care provider shall until a full investigation is complete remain closed also these day care providers found guilty of abuse towards children will have to register in a statewide data base just like sex offenders i call to the state of illinois stop protecting the case workers start protecting these kids and stop protecting them to death

These "agencies" are protecting their pocketbooks instead of the children.

These "child protection" agencies are using our families for profit. They are raping families with so-called "help". Once you are suspected, you stay on their list for future harassment. They stalk children at school and playgrounds. They deprive children and families of their personal and civil liberties under the Constitution. They use deception, fraud, misrepresentation and threats in order to exploit families and children. They intimidate children at schools and deprive them of their right to seek counsel or parental help. They have exposed our children to emotional harm by involving them is some situations which the parents have deemed "adult". All of these Abuse Terms can be found on an Order of Protection, Federal Law Books and even in the Child Welfare Manuals. THEY (the Agencies) need to look outside the box and see that THEY are abusing our kids.

It isn't until we realize that there is indeed a problem with the system that we be able to find solutions. Too many turn blind eyes to the ugly truth that our children are being abused, accousted and murdered at staggering rates ..right here in this country and by the very people who shoud be protecting them. What good is a system if it doesn't protect? What good is a system if it is failing the children.Too many people turning away and too many case workers doing a half assed job, forging documents, not doing their check ups and allowing children to fall through cracks, where the results are usually death or severe abuse leaving them with unspeakable disabilities and a shortened, painful, struggle of a life.It is deplorable that people are not held accountable when this happens. If it were private companies and children were so dispensable I guarantee that this country would be screaming for reform and change in the way the company operates, but because it is government ran agencies....well, it goes overlooked. The blame is shifted from here to there and no one has the guts to step up and say.. Yes, I made a mistake. I was lax and didn't do my job to the best of my ability. There should be punishments and repramands for these people who don't do their jobs and where children become statistics and fatalities.Let them work in a morgue and see what a tiny life has been stolen..violently.Let them have to look at every wound and injury imagining the horrific amount of pain inflicted upon a child.Let them visit hospital rooms where children lie in beds hooked up to machines keeping them alive and tell that child..you know, I just didn't want to my job.

Thank God someone is doing this. I am so tired of hearing stories about how Child Protective Services is protecting the wrong children. I have friends who are perfectly loving parents have CPS tare through thier lives, then there's children who are being severly abused and CPS treats those cases as a brush off the shoulder. CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES IS A CORRUPT SYSTEM AND THE BEST INTERST IF CHILDREN IS NOT THIER PRIORITY!! This is not acceptable. This system must be adjusted to do what our tax dollars are paying for and that is to protect children, not scrutanize good parents. And this is the case in all states. This problem is nationwide.

I cried for 3 days after hearing about Shavon. I am praying for your family and that her mother and step father get prosecuted to the fullest of the law. That's a jury that I would like to be a part of just to make sure. I also pray that the little brother is doing fine as well.

I hope DCFS change their laws and procedures.

It amazes me that a child can depend on an adult to care and these poor children were betrayed by the adults that were suppose to help them. It saddens me to read what these poor children went through. No child should have to go through this. Something needs to be done. The DCFS people were working for a paycheck not to protect the innocent children that they were hired to do. Do they forget these are children and are suppose to be helping and protecting.
