Keep Deen City Farm Open & Free to all the Community

Deen City Farm is threatened by significant cuts to its annual funding from London Borough of Merton from April 2011.  If unopposed, the size of the cuts will have a devastating effect on the Farm, possibly making it unsustainable and certainly reducing what it has to offer.  Merton have been brilliant supporters of the Farm and, in return, the Farm provides an amazing community resource.

The platform provided by Merton enables the Farm to bring in further funding and income (for every £1 from Merton, the Farm generates more than another £3).  A cut to the core grant will jeopardise the support the Farm provides to vulnerable groups and individuals who enjoy and learn from contributing to the Farm.  The Farm's educational opportunities and preventative work needs safeguarding.

Please sign and support us in showing Merton Council that they must reconsider how they prioritise their future spending to maintain the grant to Deen City Farm.  The funding proposed for 2011-12 is lower than at any time during the past 20 years and could starve a project that does so much for Merton and the surrounding areas.

Thank you.
