It has been very sad these past two weeks without being able to come home and watch the Guiding Light.I have watched this show for years and I fully believe CBS made a very bad mistake in taking this program off the air. Put another "soap" in this time period and see what happens to the ratings. Guiding Light was on TV at the time of day when school gets out and extra-curricular activities for students start. Many Moms are "on the road" at this time of day. I only watched CBS because of this show, so there is no more need to turn to that channel on my TV.

I have been watching GL for as long as I as I can remember. I watched it as a child with my mother . I remember crying when Papa Bauer died. I am now 60. All the actors were like family. They will be sadly missed. Marian

I have watched this wonderful soap opera for 30 years. I have named two of my children after Mara and Joshua. My children have watched this show forever. Please don't take this off the air. There are some very loyal viewers that want to see it stay on. I am one of them. If this is taken off the air, I will stop watching the CBS show all together. Thank you, Michelle Minneker

I feel like a lot of my family and friends have been murdered. CBS has been banned from my house. I won't watch ANY of their soaps anymore.

Guiding Light was the first and only soap I ever watched...amazing show. UNTIL the new writers butchered it. They tore down the wonderful set, screwed up story lines, and worst of all, KILLED OFF TAMMY'S CHARACTER. The show was perfect...the writers were the problem. bring back the REAL GL and your audience will come back in droves!!!!!!!

The peoples from the Guiding light were like my family and more because I could see them every day so PLEASE DON'T cancel this great show.

I HATE that the Guiding Light is not on at 3 p.m. I have resorted to turning the TV off as I cannot bear to watch the Price is Right. This SUCKS!

Guiding Light brings joy and light into my day. I miss being able to take time out of a busy life and spend an hour in Springfield with the best and longest airing soap opera. I have been a long time watcher, and I remember when I would rush home from class and later in life, from work so that I would not miss it. I am not able to work now, and there is an emptiness without it. Being home a lot, I admit to becoming attached to this show! I am just so sad to see it go and life is really not the same without it. I cannot fathom how this show could go off the air, and yet others that are ridiculous can stay. There is depth in Springfield. And there are viewers. Maybe there are not as many daytime viewers, but there are plenty of us that cannot picture our lives without Guiding Light in it. It becomes part of our lives, the characters become like family, and we look forward to that hour away each day. Please give us back GL.

I watched Guiling Light for as long as I can remember all the shows I could watch that is. I'm a single mom who raised her child alone so I missed a lot of shows from having to work two jobs. I wouldn't mind if they started from the beginning again. Thanks for letting me comment. I will miss this show. It was my very favorite show of all television shows!!! I cried some it was hard to see it go.Thanks B.J.

I would love to see Guiding Light back in some capacity even if it were only one or two episodes per week. Right now my weekday afternoons feel so empty as Guiding Light has been a part of my life off and on, (more on than off), since somewhere around 1970. If not CBS, then perhaps Fox or some other UHF station so that fans without cable won't be left out. Perhaps the show could even be continued on the internet. While I am saddened by the loss of GL at least I am happy that Josh and Reva finally got back together. Hopefully this time Always will mean just that... ALWAYS.

Please consider bring back this American staple. The show was around for 72 years and that accounts for alot! Please please try to get GL back to the fans.

Hello, been watching Guiding Light for years now with my wife and sister in law and daughter. I started trying to humor my wife but got interested for real and sometimes we would tape it to watch it together. This show is an american institution and wish you reconsider your decision to cancel it. Besides, it did not carry to its conclusion. Think about it. If you need material. I volunteer for cheap. Thanks. Sincerely: Roberto Santiago Rodriguez Milanez.

Please put GL back on the air in some form. Half hour drama a few times a week would be great. P&G needs to create their own channel on the internet or cable and show reruns of all their soaps plus new eps of GL.

I remember watching guiding light since i was a young child my grandmother who's hearing was impaired loved guiding light. I would watch it with her to be able to tell her what they said. guiding light will stick in my heart forever. I can't remember a time in my life not watching the program. If my grandma could just be here today watching she would say what did he or she say Hannah? There was times that I had to work and my husband would record it for me. He would say I recorded guiding light for you it was good today. He would start to tell me what was going on and he'd say here honey I taped it for you because he knew it ment alot to me.The program has been passed down to my daughter that watches it everyday. She says mom what are we going to do now. I feel like your letting go of alot of generations of familys that join together to watch guiding light. Its as american as apple pie like bread and butter.I haven't even mentioned my sisters I have four sisters and my mother they also watch. We all love guiding light and was raised up with it in our home please bring it back on air.my baby sister came to me the day you had the final program and she just cried.I know this might seen little to you but to us its been passed down from generations. its like an heirloom in the family. grandma mother daughter and our daughters and with me my husband also. thank you for listening Hannah Rodriguez

I have watched the Guiding Light for more than two decades. It was the most realistic soap opera on TV. This show related to all people, ages, educational levels, small businesses and big business while showing family and friends relationships. I loved the actors and the show. Life will never be the same without the Guiding Light.

Bring Guiding Light Back. Third generation GL fan. (my 19yr old son is the 4th Gen.) Have been watching this show all my life (50 years) and probably listened to it in the womb since mom and Grandma started with the show back in 1937 on the radio and watched until their passing. Not only is this show a part of history but it is part of the family. GL and the cast (and crew) are like extended family, not only to me but to thousands of fans. This show has heart, story, and characters that we love, believe in and care about and always will. I won't watch any show that replaces it or anything else on CBS daytime until Guiding Light is returned to the airwaves. I understand that gameshows and talk shows are cheaper to produce but there must be a way to save our soap. Maybe cut the show back to a half hour like it was in the 70's - better yet give it a unified time slot like the other soaps on CBS. If CBS won't pick it up then maybe someone else will. Frank Ducoppolus has an idea to revamp the show as a 30 minute weekly series. If this will bring back GL then I am all for it. All our options have not been exhausted. IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO SAVE GUIDING LIGHT. The fans are stand behind GL all the way and will follow it anywhere. When you look at ratings don't forget how popular this show is outside of the US and don't forget all the people who DVR and tape there show to watch later (after work, school). The Fans of GL are still fighting the fight to Bring Back Guiding Light. Please heed our call.

I can't believe that the show was cancelled. Obviously, CBS and Proctor & Gamble don't care about all demographics. My Great Grandmother, Grandparents all watched the show. The show reminded me of their absence and the times we spent together. The Baby Boomers earn alot of money and their voices should be recognized. Our children get their money from us! This show was a part of American History. I hope some smart cable network steps up!

Please!!!!!! I have been a Guiding Light fan since I was a child watching with my mother during summer months, or after I came home from school. I feel like Springfield is a real town with real people that I have grown to know and love over the years. I am so used to tuning in at 2:00 every day, that now, I just watch the recorded last two episodes to keep the show alive in my heart. We have a very good thing here in the Guiding Light!!! Please bring it back. Maybe you could do a sequel called Springfield or something. Please--bring back Josh and Reva and all the folks I love in Springfield. Thank you.

I've watched "Guiding Light" since I was a child for as long as I can remember--45 years or so. I started watching it with my mother as a child. I've missed it this week it has been off the air. It was a show that often had me watch the shows that aired before and after it on our local CBS channel WBTV. Now I'm not interest in the show that has been placed in that time slot, "The Price Is Right," and probably will not be watching those before or after shows either. I would be very pleased to see CBS reverse their decission to take "Guiding Light" off the air.
