Tobacco products have killed millions in the world and smokers find it hard to give it up even now. Smokers have found a solution that is saving lives yet we are at risk of losing our lifeline. We are requesting that the powers that be at the FDA allow us to continue to use and purchase these nicotine delivery devices at our own discretion while further testing commences from the FDA. If you ban these devices millions will return to tobacco products  which would be a guaranteed death sentence for many.

With the harm that is well known with tobacco what more could it hurt us to just allow us to help ourselves for the time being with these devices many of us have been using for years. We just want to be heard and want you to give this device its fair hearing.

We the undersigned:

We are requesting that the powers that be at the FDA allow us to continue to use these electronic nicotine delivery devices at our own discretion while further testing commences from the FDA. If you ban these devices millions will return to tobacco products  which would be a guaranteed death sentence for many.

Tobacco products have killed millions in the world and smokers find it hard to give it up even now. Smokers have found a solution that is saving lives yet we are at risk of losing our lifeline.

With the harm that is well known with tobacco what more could it hurt us to just allow us to help ourselves for the time being with these devices many of us have been using for years. We just want to be heard and want you to give these devices a fair hearing. We ask you to read what people have to say and realize you will do more harm than good by refracting these products prematurerly.

Keep us from returning to tobacco and losing what hope we have that we may live a long healthy life.

A couple of facts: The amount of nicotine you ingest is regulated as you have to select the mg of the fluid you use from 0-36mg, for that matter do you control how many cigarettes you smoke? The worries of availability of minors under 18 having access to these is a concern that should not even be involved. I challenge you to find a seller that offers these products to minors or does not have a disclaimer listed. And furthermore when does it become the responsibility of the parent to finally control what their children have access to? As with alcohol and cigarettes today the only minors who use these products are clearly violating the companies policies as well as the trust of the PARENTS. Lastly, in America I always assumed we lived by an "innocent until proven guilty" concept. If you as the FDA believe these products are more harmful to users than regular cigarettes than YOU should back that up with clinical testing before you impose a ban on something you haven't taken the time to figure out for yourselves. You have done nothing to remove the 4000 harmful chemicals from tobacco on the market today that are show to cause cancer so don't discriminate those of us who chose a healthy alternative to better our health!

As a former smoker I cannot help but express pure joy over the e-cigarette. When I first heard of them, I was extremely skeptical of such a product, but after reading numerous studies on the various ingredients, it became abundantly clear that a product that delivers a vapor of Propylene Glycol, Nicotine, and flavoring ingredients was by far the superior choice when compared with the veritable laundry list of ingredients found in Tobacco smoke. I buy the liquid solution of the Propylene Glycol and Nicotine separately from the device, in a laboratory sealed container so that I know the chances of contamination are far slimmer than that of the liquids found in the separately sold cartridge components of these e-cigarettes. I both feel better and breath better using these e-cigarettes, and cannot fathom returning to traditional tobacco.

Since I started smoking e-cigarettes, my health as improved. I can breath freely and it is only a matter of time before I am 100% smoke free. These e-cigarettes are a miracle and I only wish I would have discovered them years ago. I have tried just about every method to quit smoking and all have failed. Once again, these cigarettes are a lifesaver.

By your standards, these are as safe as currently stop-smoking aids. It is the only thing that simulates the physical act of smoking, without the harmful chemicals.

I have been able to totally quit the nasty habit of real cigarretes for 5 months. I really enjoy this simple pleasure and it doesn't bother anyone else.

FDA don’t even dare to ban this product!!!! Is great and I am smoke free and felling much better for more than 6 month. Maybe is not 100% safe, but in any case much safer than a real tobacco cigarette.

After failed attempts of quitting using the patch, I have not smoked a cigarette in 10 days and do not crave one after 16 years of a pack-a-day habit thanks to my personal vaporizer (e-cig). These are the ONLY alternative I have available to me that has been able to keep me from smoking. If this alternative is removed, I hate to think of what that will mean for me.

Please, please please leave the e-cigarettes available to the public. I feel this may be my last chance for a way to quit smoking. I am definately smoking less and I'm no longer putting those around me at risk. Please think of all of those that are dying due to being addicted!

I believe in America land of the free. Let us have our freedom to choose. My fiance passed away at 46 y/o from non-hodgekins lymphoma a form of cancer. He used to smoke two packs a day, cigarettes. He wanted to stop, tried several ways without success. He hated the vice. For this reason I urge the FDA to consider the smoker and give them the option of having a choice. And now with this electronic cigarette, technology at its best. Thank you for reading my letter.

I think E-cigs are quite important and needs to be publicized more to help people quit smoking/ smoke a less damaging alternative to traditional smoking.

I've been a pack a day smoker for 12 years. I'll be 27 soon. I've tried to quit many times in many ways. Well my e-cig is in the mail and for the first time i feel like I actually have a chance! This thing saves lives, there is no question about it. I want the FDA to do it's job.. but only if it is really DOING its JOB. You are supposed to be based on scientific evidence and public health alone. We are not all ingroant to vested intrests. E-cigs have the potential to epitamize harm reduction to it's finest. And don't forget that this is America. Your move FDA.. We are all watching you very closely.

This is a revalutionary product that WILL save millions of lives over the next ten years. If the Gov. and the FDA continue to attempt banning this they will fail and their true interets will also be exposed.

Please do not ban the e-ciggarette, this has the potential to improve ones help. A Ciggarette has 5000 different chemicals, This has niccotine and Glycol which is barely detectable in the laboratory. Thank you for your time Kind Regards R. Craig Ferguson

I actually just came across these cigs for the first time. And it really feels good to know there is hope because my quitting smoking is not looking too good. I would hate 4 my hopes to be gone before I even get to try these.

I had been a smoker since I was 14..I am now 38. I had tried everything and nothing worked until now..this has truely been a godsend. My lungs DO NOT hurt me in the morning anymore, my taste has come back. I can now run, and swim without a coughing fit..the e-cig has given me this freedom back and shown me that i do have the strength to NEVER smoke again, the desire to smoke tobacco is now gone.

Keep electronic cigarettes legal until the FDA can prove they are more harmful than cigarettes!!! The FDA is trying to ban them because of DRUG MONEY profits!! That's right.... *the FDA is thinking*: "A $100,000,000 industry of anti-smoking aids and drugs are at stake!" Doesn't surprise me.... The FDA has suppressed natural cures for diseases and disorders for decades. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost due to this. Many more are at stake. Fight for your rights!! $F$D$A$ = socialism (and yes I am a proud Obama voter)

I have tried patches, (gave me rashes) , Zyban (too many side affects to tolerate including sleeplessness, extreme weight loss, mood swings and chest pains) and gum (nasty after taste and rough on the stomach) E-cigarettes have non of these side affects and obviously I'm much better off not smoking. I can't understand if you can ok cigarettes, nicotine patches, gum and suppositories, why this is such a threat to the FDA. I don't want to smoke cigarettes but I will have no other choice if this option is removed

Why ban this product? Shouldn't it be the tobacco cigarrettes that are banned? How many have died from tobacco cigarettes vs. electronic cigarettes? Could it be because the government is finding it hard to put a "sin" tax on this product and/or because big tobacco companies and pharm companies are losing money and the government because of loss in "sin" tax revenues? We see right through this ban and know the real reasons why they are trying to ban this product. LAND OF THE FREE, ANE THE HOME OF THE BRAVE!!!!!!!!!

The FDA states they don’t know what effects this will have on a body, I want to give them a chance to test it, so, let them test me if they would like. I will be a willing, participating test subject for the FDA if they will accept me as one. In my opinion smoking tobacco products doesnt just harm me, the smoke harms and invades my family. The guilt of that weighs greatly on my mind and have gone so far as to isolate myself while smoking. I have tried to quit on numerous occasions and so far am unable to. Spending the money to buy tobacco is invading my finances and the e-cig is cheaper by my calculations. To a non-smoker it might seem easy, but to fellow smokers and ex-smokers you know what I mean. Even as a smoker, when I see a smoker quit I congratulate them and hope they stay an ex-smoker. To me the electronic cigarette is a great alternative, not just to me but to my family. It can’t be any worse than what I am doing to myself with the tobacco cigarette and I know the electronic cigarette is benefiting my family because they dont have to share my addiction. Test it, give us the results and don’t be our mother. Americans are not stuiped and we don’t need government interventions, just knowledge and information to make the choices. Don’t take away my choice. That is why I am proud to be american. I am free, I am safe and I have choices. I will be truly disappointed in the FDA and the United States governiment if they don’t give this product a chance
