Keep our uniforms

The Michigan State football uniforms are now as good as any in college football. They are classy, uncluttered, and reminiscent of the uniforms worn by the championship teams of the 60s.  However, over the last couple decades our identity has changed with each new coach.  And each time we change we are not always as recognizable.  Other teams with great football history have kept their uniforms fairly constant over the years, so if you were take a look at pictures from 10 or 20 years ago, they look about the same today.  That gives a team more tradition and makes them more recognizable. So what I am proposing is that we freeze them permanently and make little to no changes year to year. 

A survey of hundreds of people has shown, with the exception of minor preferences, everyone is proud of the uniforms that the 2007 Spartans donned.  

This petition will be sent to the MSU athletic office requesting that the Spartan football team maintain its identity and keep the basic design of the uniforms hence forward.  The only exceptions would be for special occasions (throwbacks & alternates), the addition of a single pin stripe matching the championship teams of the past, and updates for new materials and slight changes in styling.

This is a topic that many Spartans have deep feelings about, but  the important thing is that we move forward with one identity.  Please sign this petition and help our voices be heard!
