Keep the BC Black Bears Safe!

The BC black bears seem safe - for now.  We are thrilled to announce that the Ministry of Environment has no immediate plans to euthanize the bears, and has been very open to reintroducing the bears into the wild.  We greatly appreciate their efforts!  But the bears are not out of - or into - the woods yet!

Let's be sure to let the Ministry know that we are still here, and expect their continued cooperation.

This petition is a follow-up to Save Bears Found in Drug Bust.

Save Bears Found in Drug Bust petition text below:

Police involved in a Canadian drug bust found over a dozen black bears roaming in a field of  marijuana, apparently fed by the growers to guard the plants.  The bears did nothing to stop police and appeared friendly and docile, but because of their prolonged exposure to humans, it is now being debated whether or not they should be put down.

Please sign this petition asking Canadian officials to release the bears in a human-free area, or if they are unable to take care of themselves in the wild, send them to a reputable sanctuary.
To Whom It May Concern,

We, the undersigned, commend you for your cooperation and your interest in reintegrating the BC black bears into the wild.  We would like you to know that we expect this cooperation to continue and look forward to keeping these bears safe and well.

Thank you for your support.
