I have never missed a radio personality, as much as I miss Matt! I have listened to Matt off and on over the years, and what I really liked about him, was the fact that he is "one of us"...he admitted to having faults, and struggled with past mistakes, that he worked through. I loved his heart felt faith, and compassion....we NEED him back!

I have always enjoyed listening to Matt Patrick...he needs to be on the radio, he brings info to the people and he's a family guy who knows what's going on around the area.

You lost me - Matt was the only reason I listened to your station. He was the only one you could count on hearing both sides of the story from.

Wow, For local and State issue you just couldn't do it any better and as for debating he was fair on both sides. It has been a great let down in the morning to not have him on the air.

I believe Matt Patrick helped to keep WHLO's ratings up - can't believe anyone would listen to the morning show they have on from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. (Quinn and Rose are now NOT LIVE at 9 a.m. to 12 Noon). The lineup with Quinn and Rose live at 6 a.m. followed by Matt Patrick at 9 a.m. Please do what you can to restore it!

I enjoyed Matt's show immensely. I didn't listen every day, but when I did, I enjoyed his local/regional coverage and his bringing on of candidates for state and federal office and interviewing them. I can't imagine what 640 WHLO is thinking by letting him go. Especially during this crucial year of 2010 elections that will hopefully see the end of liberal rule in Congress! Bring him back!

Bring back Matt to WHLO I listened every day for not only balanced information and his passion for doing what is right. He is truly missed and his listener base was huge. WHLO wake up when you have a winning show keep it going.

I like to hear 640 radio when I'm on the road. Matt Patrick's show added local interest. I will still listen from noon on but will choose a music channel or educational/motivational/inspirational CDs in the morning unless Matt Patrick returns. Canceling him is a mistake for the community.
# 476:
1:04 pm PST, Jan 7, Kathy Zehner, Ohio
I am scanning all the morning shows and there is not a single one that compares to Matt's show. Many had strong feelings against him as a radio personality, but he knew Akron inside and out and you were a shallow listener if you did not see beyond some of the things he said. He owned his failings and he championed the children of our area during each radiothon. His heart was in the right place and I could feel his sincerity. Yeah, I have yet to find that on the dial now!
# 475:
7:12 am PST, Jan 7, Bryan Harrold, Ohio
Please put your schedule back with Warroom 6-9 and Matt 9-12. Matt was one of most use talk shows on radio as he informed us about our area. I will contact 640's sponsers and express my displeasure with 640 and any that advertise on them.
# 474:
6:03 am PST, Jan 7, Name not displayed, Ohio
I was sorry to learn that Matt Patrick is off the air. I don't live in the Akron/Canton area, but I feel that having fair discussions about local issues is invaluable and hate to see it disappear. Please rethink your decision to take his show off the air!
# 473:
5:22 am PST, Jan 7, John Bidinost, Ohio
Please bring back Matt Patrick, It was the one time of the day that I had someone who agreed with me. Matt cares about the area and has enlighten us on local voting issues by showing both sides of the issue, and then letting us make up our minds. If Matt agrees or disagrees he always showed both sides. Thank you for the many issues brought to the forefront, and you will be greatly missed. Hurry Back.
# 472:
8:36 am PST, Jan 6, Anne Nock, Ohio
Please bring Matt Patrick back! WHLO has been the only alternative to the horrible WKBN57 that we in Ytown are stuck with. Sean Hannity is ok, but he has a tv show where he repeats most of what he says on radio anyway. It is a huge mistake to take Matt off the air.
# 471:
6:14 am PST, Jan 5, Rudy Stagl, Ohio
I also enjoyed the local hosts interviews, and talk radio program. I htink this was a mistake
# 470:
4:38 pm PST, Jan 4, Matthew Cart, Ohio
I still haven't found a reason for this change. I turned on the radio to 640am this morning and no Quinn & Rose.... then see things on facebook about Matt Patrick leaving but no explanation. What a stupid move if this was done by 640am. Matt Patrick was one of the only local shows, which I appreciate far more than the national shows.
# 469:
3:23 pm PST, Jan 4, Name not displayed, Ohio
When I could listen to Mr. Patrick I was very impressed. He keeps us up on the local and state issues. We get the national views from Quinn, Rush, Hannity and Levine. I cannot believe WHLO has canceled Matt, moved Quinn and put drivel on during the wake-up - drive to work time.

What is WHLO thinking? Swap the time-slots between Hannity and Patrick and you will see an improvement in both slots. On my way to work I always listen to Quinn and Rose. During my lunch I listen to Rush. On my way home from work I can take about two minutes of Hannity and I end up changing the channel or turning the radio off. Hannity is very poor at articulating conservative wisdom. His rebuttals against liberals is a joke. It is kind of like watching Bush in a debate. You want tell him to go sit down and I'll take it from here. But there are some Hannity fans out there. They will follow him to the 9-12 time slot. Having Patrick on from 3-6 gives us something interesting to listen to on the way home from work.

Here I thought Matt was leaving FM to work strictly for AM... what the heck!!! Bring him back please! The Akron/Canton area needs a voice of reason in this very uncertain time.
# 465:

Matt is a great guy and I thoroughly enjoy listening to him and his views. We need more people like Matt on the air. It is getting harder and harder to find good talk radio. Columbus 103.9 WTDA talk FM was just converted to classic rock... what a shame.
# 464:

I will not be listening to WHLO anymore. Back to WTAM for me. Why listen to shows that are not live?

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!?!?! Couldn't find Matt last week, figured he was vacationing. Looked at the lineup today and.. Gone!! Matt had a great show! So much for getting honest information around this area. Guess I'll Just have to stream the good stuff from the net. Now Quinn and Rose are on at 9am instead of 6am. Does this mean the show will not be live anymore? WTF WHLO? Do you WANT to fail?? Keep it up and you will.
# 459:

Matt Patrick filled a void addressing/informing of local NE ohio and statewide issues. The listener was better educated thanks to Matt. Please put Matt back on the air as a public service. Thank you.

There is no place to go to get the local coverage of politics and news. THe Akron Beacon Urnal has cut its reporting staff drastically and what news they do report is from a very libral slant. Matt Pattrick was the only place the get conservative talk and news. Bring him back, PLEASE.

Extremely upset to lose a common sense conservative voice in our community, especially when your competitor station (WHBC), which we and extended family regularly listened to, put a liberal apologist in the same time slot who is very offensive. The breath of fresh air that Matt Patrick offered has been cut at the most important time of our era when common sense is most needed, and he was "local content" to boot! We also learned to respect local businesses that advertised, and even interviewed on your station, such as the Waikem auto dealers. While Dave Ramsey's financial info is decent, it's not local and having him on twice a day is ridiculous. You have lost us as listeners. I have switched to WKBN Youngstown (Dan Rivers) despite the lack of local Akron/Canton/Massillon coverage. Do the right thing, and restore our local spokesperson for common sense.

I also was a bit cautious when I started to listen to Matt in the evening. Boy was I surprised how Matt pulled everything together not only on the local scene but also was very versed on the national scene. I followed Matt to the daytime show because I wanted to here and listen to what he had to say. I still remember one of his early shows it involved the Hudson bussing mess and how he pulled someone from the school to keep them accountable. Matt may have his own views but he also will listen to opposing views to try and understand why they think the way they do this in turn gives the audiance the full picture not just the host views shoved in your face. Matt has a way with getting guest on that sometimes do not want their feet held to the fire. I feel these guest would come on only because they have respect for Matt. There is no better evidence than when he pulled the Mayor of Akron in for a majority of the show. It was no holds bar. What a testament to Matt as a host .I will be moving my dial to where ever he lands. You can rest assure Matt will surface again. Sorry Matt that the people that you think you can trust let you down. Just remember the fans of Matt Patrick will always be behind him holding him up. When one door closes another opens and more times than not it leads to better things. I will not offer you a good luck you deserve more than that. Your dedication and hard work says it all.

i enjoy the matt patrick show. will listen to other stations if you don't bring him back. WHLO can not afford to let him go.

I listened to Matt's show for humor, since the conservative way of thinking is utterly ridiculous. The daily line-up of conservative fools is not the same without Matt, so I hope he returns to amuse his minions
