Dear Mr. President,

My name is Ariel A Rodriguez. I am a 37th year old father of two beautiful kids that I love with all my heart. I was watching your speech tonight and you were talking about how education needs to start in the home and that it is the parents responsibility to be with their kids and spend time with them, read them a book etc. Did you know that 90% of fathers that face divorce are separated from their kids and that 80% would love to be more involved in their kids lives? The corrupt family law system has made them visitors in their kids lives. We become the paycheck for lawyers, creating a big incentive for women to start the battle for divorce, because like Dr. Warren Farrell says in his book, FATHER AND CHILD REUNION, being a good mother doesn't pay well and unfortunately most of the mothers go to the battle of divorce and try to take the kids away from dad for the money. I think, like you said several times in your speech that it is time for a change. We, the families of the U.S, cannot wait any longer for this change. Our kids rights are being violated every day. The right to have a father in their life, a full time one, not a part time one and this will only be granted if we approve a creation of a new bill to stop the war against fathers. This bill provides that in awarding joint custody to parents under the dissolution of marriage chapter, joint physical care may be awarded to both parents based on a request by either during the proceedings on the initial dissolution petition or during the proceedings for a modification of the original custody order. The bill creates a rebuttable presumption that a request for joint physical care by either parent is in the best interest of the child, places the burden of proof to rebut the presumption on the party denying that and requires such party to demonstrate that joint physical care is not in the best interest of the child by clear and convincing evidence. Family laws are destroying more families today than all the wars put together and the only motive is money. There is a corrupt system that feeds on the suffering of millions of fathers and kids growing up to be the divorced families of tomorrow.

President Clinton on October 1995 says.

The single biggest social problem in our society may be the growing absence of fathers from their children homes because it contributes to so may other social problems without a father to help guide, without a father to care, without a father to teach boys to be men, and teach girls to expect respect from men, it's harder.

President George W. Bush, on June 2001 says.

Over the past four decades, fatherlessness had emerged as one of our greatest social problems... We know that children who grow up with absent fathers can suffer lasting damage. They are more likely to end up in poverty or drop out of school, become addicted to drugs, have a child out of wedlock, or end up on prison. Fatherlessness is not the only cause of these things, but our nation must recognize it is an important factor.

Well it seems to me that everybody knows it's a big social problem but even though it's so easy to correct, no one has done anything about it. Thats why Im writing to you Mr. President. The same way you promise to all Americans that you will fight for us and respect our rights for a better tomorrow without debts from our bad decisions today, I made the same promise to my kids (Gabriella and Matthew). In as much as you do not want to fail in that promise, I do not want to fail in mine, because I do love them very much and I will never be a deadbeat father even when the court is trying to make me one.

I sincerely hope you answer this letter and if its possible to meet you and share with you or a member of your cabinet a lot of ideas that I know will bring peace to the American families and a total reconciliation to our society.

We all know what the basis for any healthy society is. It is The Family.
