Sign this petition because the government has drained Alligator Bayou and the Spanish Lake Basin and killed the wildlife and an eco-swamp tour owned by my uncles, Frank Bonifay and Jim Ragland. The boat tour was both entertaining and educational for adults and kids. The alligators are being shot because they are climbing out of the empty basin looking for food and water.
We are going to take this petition to Louisiana politicians to show that kids care about the environment and have power! Nobody has the right to kill wildlife and take their homes away, and especially for no good reason. My uncles were taking care of the environment just fine, and they were teaching kids about the swamp. But then, these people stopped them and ruined the school tours.
When you sign this petition, you speak out for children and wildlife. Thank you for signing this petition and doing the right thing. We appreciate you helping us, because we need help.

This WAS a beautiful piece of Louisiana's Natural Habitat. What took thousands of years to build has been literally destroyed in months..
Jim and Frank, dont give up. You have done an amazing job with the area only to be taken away by greed and politics.

It was very disappointing to me to find out that I could not get up close and personal with the alligators and other wonderful La wildlife through a tour this past May when I would have liked to due to the swamp being gradually drained. This was something my hubby and I were looking forward to experiencing that is generally only found here in La. Instead we had to drive hours away to find another such tour to take which was very inconvenient.

This is a great part of the Louisiana heritage. Enough gets wiped out every year by natural diasters. We need to hold on to as much as we can. My daughter has had quite a few class trips and taken quite a few visitors to this landmark. To see it removed would be a very sad moment in Louisiana history.

I don't live in La. but I see the same problems in our state...we are destroying our national treasures all in the name of monetary gain and self interest...sounds like what is happening in Washington is happening at the grass roots level..one of these days voters will see the light and do the right thing...

Well Blake, I sure hope that the people affiliated with making their concrete jungle out of our beautiful Alligator Bayou realized their ultimate consequences for The Bayou's destruction. The consequences of their actions will be far greater than their pocket books will be full. No one will be happy on the property that "they" possibly develop following this type of destruction to such a beautiful place on Earth. If "they" succeed over your efforts, you will have to find it in your heart to forgive them, but don't forget to feel sorry for them.............their lives will be havoc from the point that "they" think "they" were successful in defeating you. You and your Uncles, my dear, will forever be "wearing the white hats" and do not EVER feel defeated. You all already won when you loved the beautiful land and animals that you nurtured. The ignorant "corporation" is not smart enough or talented enough or slick enough or creative enough (or or or or or........believe me I could go on.........) to figure out how to be profitable without destroying one of our areas GREATEST treasures (which, of course, has been greatly enhanced since your Uncles took it over!)! Keep up the good work! You have my continued support, as well as, my 6 children (4 of which have grown up with Alligator Bayou with field trips and personal canoeing trips). This one signature actually counts as 8. My 2 youngest boys have not yet had the incredible experience of Alligator Bayou and I, sadly saw the boat in VERY low water the other day. The boat my older children went on for field trips. We love you guys and we whole-heartedly support y'all! I am your friend, Holly Cashio

I think those companies should be punished for destroying the habitat. This was one of my favorite things to do when I visit my grandparents in Louisiana.

Alligator Bayou is one of Louisiana's greatest treasures in terms of it's impact environmentally & educationally. Jim & Frank are excellent ambassadors who enrich the lives of kids and adults everywhere by introducing them to the experience that is life in this ecosystem called Alligator Bayou

I have been advised of the situation at Alligator Bayou by relatives living in Iberville Parish and cannot fathom why the draining ever took place.
For the sake of future generations, reverse this condition!!!!!!
