Killing a Whale for a Can of Tuna?
We have long heard the stories of other marine mammals being killed while fishermen are on the hunt for tuna. Years ago, the main concern was the threat to dolphins. Now, however, whales and other marine mammals are among the animals killed for the sake of netting tuna.
We must reach out to US tuna retailers again and let them know that we are NOT interested in purchasing tuna which cannot be humanely caught, without disrupting or ending the lives of precious marine mammals around them.
Whales are a keystone species and help provide for much of the marine life in the ocean today. They are a highly social species and are said to communicate to one and other over large distances.
It is absolutely unacceptable to slaughter these highly intelligent beings in the hunt for tuna.
Please tell Woolworths and other US tuna retailers that we demand tuna fish be caught in a responsible manner without needlessly slaughtering animals in the vicinity. Our precious and often endangered marine life deserve better than this.
We the undersigned are writing with extreme concern after having seen recent reports out of Greenpeace involving the needless slaughter of whales in the Pacific by fisherman netting for tuna fish.
We are NOT interested in purchasing tuna that has been inhumanely caught. The innocent and precious lives of whales and other intelligent marine life, such as dolphins, should not be put in jeopardy. Please take these brands of tuna fish off your shelves.

Please only purchase and sell tuna that has been caught responsibly by pole, hook and line, rather than netting and other inhumane fishing methods that put other marine mammals in jeopardy. It is your duty to prevent further harm to our world's oceans.
