Leave Celebrities' Kids Alone

Target:
New York State Legislature

Tell the Media to

Leave Celebrities' Kids Alone

Let's Make it a Law:

Stop Following, Photographing, Harassing Children of Famous People

If you're like me, you're sick of seeing pictures of frightened, surprised, worried, or stressed children who are obviously being followed and harassed just because their parents are celebrities.

          Enough is enough!

There is no reason for children to be pursued and swarmed by the media. None. The pictures of celebrities' children that are being splashed all over the newspapers, magazines, websites, and television entertainment shows have to stop. These are children. They deserve our protection. Clearly, their parents are powerless over the crowds of hustling adults who track their every move.

Imagine if your children were threatened every time they left your house? You wouldn't stand for it. So, let's take a stand against it. Let's tell the media to leave the kids alone. Maybe we can't solve the paparazzi craze across the country, or around the world. But we can fix it so that children -- no matter who their parents are -- won't be hounded in our city.

Sign the petition, and when we have enough signatures, we'll send it to the New York State legislature. Let's tell the media to leave the kids alone. Let's make it a law.

I am in full agreement....Let these children be children...They didn't sign up for fame or scrutiny, and although their parents might have signed up for fame, they did not agree to full scrutiny, harrassment and exploitation of their children. Leave them alone and report on more interesting and worthwhile pieces of information that might actually impact our society and our nation!

Those who stalk children for personal reasons (including profitmaking) should be charged with child abuse and endangering the welfare of a child as well as stalking.
