Brandon Sugden

Let Brandon Sugden Play!

Target:
Hockey Fans
Sponsored by:

9/13/08 8:00PM - I just got a call from a very excited Brandon Sugden to let all of us know that he has been cleared to play!!! He wants to thank all the people that believed in him and signed the petition! He was told that the petition was a deciding factor, so give yourselves a hand!!!! - Dave

You are no doubt aware that three NHL teams have objected to Brandon Sugden returning to pro hockey this season. Brandon had planned on attending camp with the Islanders.

It has not been revealed which teams blocked Brandon, but the denial means he can't sign a deal with an NHL component or play in the NHL until next season. Brandon needed to clear this odd technicality because after leaving the Crunch two seasons ago, he announced it as a "retirement.'' Because he "retired'' then came back to play pro hockey (in the LNAH) within one year, every other NHL organization had to give him a thumbs up to return. He could sign an AHL-only deal or return to the Quebec League, but that would push back the one-year sitting out period.

It is not fair to mess with a man's lively hood....his dream. Sign your name to this petition to voice your opinion that Brandon Sugden should be allowed to play professional hockey again THIS season.

What's the big deal? This guy can play the game....So let him do that!I had no idea how petty things could be until I read this story and all the talk about Banning fighting in general...I wonder why Pro hockey is running things in such a George W. Bush,U.S.S.R. type of opperation? Put fear in people and you can back door the rules and ruin people that earn money to satisfy the suits that sit on their asses and count the money we spend to see tallent that they pick and choose to play the game! Enough is enough!

Brandon Sugden should be able to play in the NHL this season. Everyman has a right to Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of happiness. Blocking him from playing this year is an infraction on his rights.

Brandon is the nicest guy you will ever meet, and he's playing for a cause that's more than most of these guys can say. He deserves it more now than ever before!

This reminds me of the movie ROCKY. Rocky's, the fictional character who's whole life was built around boxing. It's what he did. It's what kept him alive inside along with his family. That's what the movie portraits. In the movie a the boxing panel wanted to denie his return to fighting based on what they thought was best for him. He passed all there tests and gave it all he had, just to be apart of something that was him once again. Brandon reminds me of that movie. We all know why rules are set in place. Rules are put in place to stop anarchy and out of control situations from happening. I don't see the harm in giving Sugden another chance to play hockey. At one time he thought he was done with hockey and through time, as time went on maybe he became aware of the fact that the more he was away from it, the more he lost part of him. My son is four years old now. I have a picture of sudgen on our wall in the sports room. He always asks me if we can go see sudgen play hockey and I have to tell him perhaps someday, but I don't know when or where that will be. He continue's to ask me why, I don't have a good answer for him because I don't agree with the answers Mr. Sudgen has been given as to why he can't play. In short, I am asking whomever reads this letter to consider letting Brandon Sudgen play professional & or Minor league hockey again. Hockey is part of him as him playing hockey is part of my son. If you have any questions in regards to my statements and need anything further from me to assist you in making this happen anyone may contact me at any time. Thank you for your time in regards to this serious matter. Sincerely, Mike Nanno 315-663-4829 Cell

People make mistakes, rules are rules, but Sugs has been through enough and sat out of the more competive leagues for long enough... we've enjoyed his play, attitude and work ethic he deserves his opportunity and for certain would appreciate his chance... TIME SERVED!!!

Absolutely no reason whatsoever that Brandon should be barred from the NHL. He has overcome the problems of his past, and has earned the right to compete for a spot on an NHL roster. Shame on the three clubs who voted against his reinstatement.

Let Sugden Play! It's time for everyone to move on from the situation. I've also heard his father is ill, allow him to see his son have a chance to make it to the top.
