Let myspace back the way it used to be.

We've been using myspace for years now, it used to be a place where people could have fun doing whatever they want, adding codes, putting up music the way they like; it was a bit more free than it is now. Don't take this the wrong way, the mail center rocks, the music playlist does too; getting rid of profile 1.0 completely on the other hand is a big mistake that is making most myspace users despise the website and move to a different site; People liked working on codes, most of them eitherway - I enjoyed it more than anything personally and I know many did as well.Get it back, after all we're the ones that make the website run, if people don't sign up, this site wouldn't exist - our demands are, stop becoming the next commercial channel, stop trying to be the next facebook or running the website the way you want the way some other websites are doing and let the people choose. Put Myspace profile 1.0 back on the map immediately when you sign up, changes are optional and stop deleting for no reason - roleplayers aren't faking their identities, each roleplayer has up to thirty account on this website, so keep in mind the more users you have the more popular you are you are losing your popularity by deleting these people that tend to love your website so much and making it impossible for them to use it.

I have been working with myspace for both personal, social, creational, and proffesional reasons. Yes, I am one of those famous roleplayers and one of the original roleplayers to be exact. I was one of the first 300 people to come on acting as a made up character. My very first character was based off of my favorite movie, "Disney's The Lion King". Princess Uriana was her name. A fellow roleplayer edited the animated look for me. Now following that was a character I made up personally. Jade which is now the main character of my work-in-progress book, Jaded Healer. Yes vampire related, but in no way possible will it ever be a love story. Without the 1.0 profiles I wouldn't have been able to express myself in the way I wished to. Nor would the characters have been shown in the way I saw them to be. I know codes very well as am I good at graphic design. With the recent lack of 1.0 profiles out there. It has been difficult for me to continue writing and practicing graphic design. PLEASE bring back the option of 1.0 profiles myspace inc. I would be forever appreciative of this. Thank You! ~Virginia Holmes

Yeah 1.0 was the best, I miss putting my own codes on my profile. Please bring 1.0 back!

Please reinstate profile 1.0!!! I had so much fun tweaking with my profile before, I could spend HOURS doing it, but now I don't even want to touch my profile.

2.0 is really boring compared to all the things you can do to 1.0, and I'd say one of my favorite things to do was to make layouts. And honestly, I just don't like 2.0 because its ugly.

I love profile 1.0, it's much easier to edit. I think it's wrong for new myspace users to have to use 2.0 if they don't want to. They should have the choice to use 1.0 or 2.0. For example, my account got deleted. So when I went back to make a new one, I was forced to use 2.0, which I can't stand. This isn't fair. I'm outraged! Myspace is trying so hard to beat Facebook and Twitter, well screw them. Myspace was always better before Facebook and Twitter came along. Put Myspace back to the original. Bring all the users back, they want it back to the same way it was when we first joined!

Both my fiance and I roleplay on Myspace and have done so since 2005/2006. I've been a member of this site for a long long time. When my fiance made a new account for roleplay, she was disgusted and quite irate about the fact that the Myspace 1.0 style was GONE. Please, bring back the styles we love. Change is alright, but why not leave the choice? You left all kinds of other choices in the past . . . why not leave this choice up to the users that have my your website so popular? Nobody wants to be generic . . . not just another page of millions, most people want to customization . . . they want to be unique . . . individuals. Isn't that what Myspace was really founded on . . . ?

I used to love 1.0 it was the best thing ever since you could always customize everything to fit your own style but not anymore! CHANGE IT BACK!

Look, personally, I'm against social networking sites. I could extrapolate, but that would take time, time I'm guessing web surfers wouldn't be willing to spare, so I'll keep this relatively brief. Because I don't use social networking sites such as MySpace, I have no comment on 1.0 vs. 2.0, though if this petition is representative at all of MySpace's fan base, then they should seriously reconsider their decision. My issue is with the roleplayers. MySpace and other social networking sites were created for the purpose of bringing people together (though I think they've failed miserably in that objective, it's just my perspective, it's not relevant to the argument). If you aren't yourself, then the entire thing's pointless. There are plenty of roleplaying sites, designed specifically for people who enjoy the craft. I have many roleplayer friends, and none of them rely on some social networking site to get their fix. My advice, find a nice roleplaying site, especially those of you who want to quit anyway, due to the change in settings.

# 954:

I had the perfect 1.0 layout and then my profile was changed accidentally and now I'm stuck with the awful version of 2.0 forever. Please, an accidental clicking and I can't go back? This does not make me want to even continue using the site anymore. Please give us the option to at least revert back to myspace 1.0, Tom.
# 953:

I honestly despise the new 2.0 Layout; I'm digging up accounts I haven't used in forever just to have a 1.0.

Give us back our 1.0! Just look at all the notes on this petition. Don't you see how pissed off people are getting? Do you really wan't everyone to leave just because you won't change back the profiles? And, leave the role players alone. They're the real ones that keep your damn website running.
# 946:
7:07 am PST, Nov 3, Name not displayed, New York
Give 1.0 back! Maybe you see no problem with 2.0, but that's because you're not using MySpace on a daily basis. Your constant changes have got to stop. Just let us have normal 1.0 profiles again!

I really love adding pictures to my myspace from Photobucket, And i really don't see why i cant anymore, because of profile 2.0 and my computer wont let me change back, so its stupid? I mean, at least let me add pictures. Really Tom, It's dumb.
# 942:

We've been lied too!! Even now if you go into edit profile or rather to customize it, we still have that we can switch back to 1.0. This is NOT true and if we all wished, we could sue the hell out of Myspace and those that are behind it. But honestly, either leave us roleplayers alone, or give us our own space!! If every last person that was a role player left and took every single last one of their profiles, you would see that there are 10 times more of us than just regular folks. Give us 1.0 back, or at least keep your word and let us have the option to go back to it!!
# 941:

Please. We just want 1.0 back. Is it too hard to go back to the good days of myspace? If it is, I don't want to put up with 2.0 much longer, anyway. It's too... facebooky. I thought your goal was to be original? Not a clone.

I seriously, do not understand why we don't have the option of 1.0? Small changes like, the navigation bar, the mail center, edit pictures, all those were pretty good. But messing with peoples profiles like that? Is the stupidest thing ever. I hate it, I want the choice of 1.0 back. NOW.

The right to choose between 1.0 and 2.0 has been taken away, despite the reassurance of otherwise. Myspace has become too much like Facebook, if I do say so myself, and I would prefer it to go back to the way it was. I strongly dislike the style of 2.0 (that's a complete understatement) and, considering the fact that I have knowledge of HTML/CSS, it is going to require me to relearn everything if I chose to make another profile.
# 922:
1:39 pm PDT, Oct 15, Candice Broxley, United Kingdom
Please bring back 1.0. Like, seriously. I hate 2.0. It's complicated, messy and having good knowledge of HTML with 1.0 I could make my own layouts. I can't for 2.0. We were told it wouldn't be enforced. Well it has been. I'm not happy with ett.

I defintly think 1.0 was a better way to do your profiles. It was alot easier and nice to look at! So, please change it back. I know alot of people who have complained to me about how much they can't stand that there isn't 1.0 profiles anymore.

2.0 is annoying, and has no point. We should be able to have an option of choosing 1.0 or 2.0. This isn't facebook, it's myspace, stop trying to be like facebook!

I fully agree. I love everything myspace has done, with the exception of taking away 1.0. It isn't fair that you had to have your account by a certian time to get 1.0, I think that EVERYONE should have that option.
# 904:
12:28 pm PDT, Oct 12, Miranda McBride, Illinois
I don't remember the last time I actually made another account, so I just keep using the ones I had in the past. 2.0 confuses the hell out of me, and I think I speak for mostly everyone when I say that it's terrible. And yes, I'm a roleplayer as well, and we are NOT hurting anybody. Most of us (if not all) do not claim that we are that person, so why do we keep getting deleted? It makes no sense.

# 902:

The users of myspace are the ones who get this thing to keep running, if no one used it then there would be no myspace. There should be an option of whether you want 2.0 or not when you sign up and just not automatically make it 2.0 >.< That's the whole myspace expierence; being able to work with the codes. If we wanted to be on facebook we would make one of those! And for the roleplayers; they are not claiming to be that person and it is hurting no one so stop deleting them! It's not right!
# 901:

2.0 is bothering the crap out of me! DX please! Tom we want 1.0 back!
