For everyone who hasn't heard - the petition was a success! Comelec reversed its decision and reinstated Nick two days ago! Congratulations everyone, and thanks for all your support. Here is a message from Nicky:
The words "Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart" pale in comparison with what I really feel inside for what your collective deed has done for the future of my country, the Philippines. Your collective voice had an impact on our Commission on Election (Comelec), which acknowledged the global recognition of my candidacy in its official resolution to reinstate me as presidential candidate of the Philippines. In addition, your collective deed has helped inaugurate the era of new politics in the country, creating a palpable wave of inspiring energy throughout our archipelago. Truly, we live as one human species, on one planet, where we all bear collective responsibility for the future of human and planetary evolution. And to help pave the way forward for a more sustainable planetary future is, and will continue to surely be, one of the central themes of the new governance we intend to inaugurate after the May 2010 elections. Again, thanks for your priceless support and our warmest greetings to you all - Nicanor Perlas
