Let Patrick Await his trial at home!

When Patrick asked to be released on O/R, the judge denied his request because of his record from when he was 18 years old. He is now 31 years old and has been a productive member of society. He has been incarcerated for almost 2 years awaiting trial, and should be able to come home in the meantime. His bail is 2.2 million dollars!  You can find facts on his case by going to www.recorderonline.com and in the search criteria input Patrick Courtney.

He was lost in the forest for 24 hrs. He had a warming fire, and was found. He got sent home and two days later a plane crashed, in the mountains. They arrested him three months later on arson and murder charges. He has been in jail ever since and is still awaiting trial. This was nearly two years ago. In Nov, 08 it will be two years. He was only lost in the forest and in my opinion had a right to survive.

We the undersigned have agreed in whole that the injustice and bail amount set for Patrick Courtney is not just. He has served over two years in the Bob Wiley Detention Facility awaiting trial, he could have been at home with his family. Regardless of any criminal past history he might have had, stemming from years previous and non fire related charges, we the undersigned believe he should have been given a chance to prove himself worthy. We the undersigned thank you dearly for taking the time to read this petition and ask that this be taken into consideration in the event of any trial and or sentencing on Patrick Courtney's behalf.
