Let stop printing Yellow Pages

Let stop printing Yellow Pages

Target:
Stopping the waste of useless print paper
Sponsored by:
In an era of computers I'm finding printing Yellow Pages and others similar useless. I'm not saying to stop printing totally those items but they can be printed and distributed only to the people which are requiring them. It's such of waste of paper, even if it's recycled, energy to distribute them and also energy wasted useless to pick them from our doors and throw them in the recycling bins.
Let's stop this if we are claiming that we are doing everything for a green planet.

Our block throws away bricks and bricks of these on a regular basis. They deliver 30 to our building alone. The recycling center is overflowing with unopened packages of books that week. And, that is just from those who choose to recycle!

ENOUGH ALREADY!!! And I know it's all about the almighty $$$. The money they make from Advertisements. What is it gonna take to stop them from leaving this useless DEAD WEIGHT on my doorstep!!! I've had it. Some one should organize a couple semi- trailers and collect them from all the other people who find them annoying and a complete waste of paper... and DUMP them on the property of the people who create them!!!

I have signed up to the "No delivery" option online, I have called them to request no delivery. They are still being delivered to my house. What to do next. i find this SERIOUSLY infuriating. Its archaic. Most people throw them straight in the bin. It must be stopped.

Go Green may be a concept today, but down the road in a few years it is going to be the way of life.

DELIVER PHONE BOOKS BY REQUEST ONLY!!! PLANET FRIENDLY OR NOT-IT'S JUST STUPID TO KEEP DELIVERING SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE DON'T NEED. PAYING FOR THE TRUCKS TO HAUL THEM AROUND. PAYING THE PERSONNEL TO DISTRIBUTE THEM. WHY, BECAUSE OF THE ADVERTISING IN THEM? WHAT ADVANTAGE DO THE ADVERTISERS GET WHEN THE BOOK ARE DROPPED IN THE TRASH? I haven't used a printed phone book in years. On-line is faster & more up to date anyway & you can do reverse look ups if you just have the number, but no name. I realise that many people do not have a computer. Phone books should be delivered by request then. It does not help the advertisers if people just throw the books in the trash as soon as they get them, like I do. Yeah, I recycle them, but you know lots of folks don't.

I know where I'd like to put all these Yellow & White pages we got over the years, and it's not under the table to hold it up, or in the living room for chairs and foot stools... It's up the Makers Ass for not giving a @#$%^&*(#$%^&*it about the environment and trees they destroy... HAVE PEOPLE RING IN AND ORDER THE PHONE BOOKS SO THAT ONLY THOSE WHO WANT THEM GET THEM.. But we need to also phone them and tell them not to send it to us or we will sue them for polluting our property... We Will All Distribute your idiotic to Big Media and Start Letting those “Useless Talking Heads on TV News” know what’s really worth reporting to the world… And they will Report it as we will also through our blogs.. … … I’m sickened and disgusted. I’m sickened and disgusted. I’m sickened and disgusted. I’m sickened and disgusted. I’m sickened and disgusted. I’m sickened and disgusted.

This nonsense has to stop. And to think that trees have been cut to make this posible, it's obsurd! It's done by people without conscience.

The yellow pages are great for looking up numbers. But most people who get them don't even use them. So what's the point?

The phone book is going the way of the typewriter. New technology has taken us past the need. Let only those that want them, order them. My city has the "The Real Yellow Pages", "The Real White Pages, and the "Yellow Book". Not only do these come to my home, they are duplicated for every phone in the workplace as well! An incredible waste of resources! Something could be set up similar to the way we can remove our phone numbers from the telemarketers list. Let's push our lawmakers to do something!
