Homelessness is a state of emergency. Tent City residents need alternative, permanent housing before they can be removed by force. In this affluent society we treat our pets better than our most vulnerable neighbors.

Since moving to Seattle from New York, I've been amazed by the homeless problem here. Don't make it worse.

Please have some compassion for those who are not as fortunate as others. In reality we are just a paycheque or two away from the same situation. Please Leave them in peace!

There but for the Grace of God go any of us.Would it hurt anything to leave these people in peace while some of them try to improve on their lot? Have you been out ther to talk to them without your gestapo body guards. Some, no doubt, used to live in as good of a neighborhood as you do. Quit pushing them around and they will be back to the "respectable"neighborhoods. I have a daughter in Redmond, living in a gated community. Thank God she is not one of your homeless. Quit hindering and help those people

why do city leaders keep pretending we do not have a homeless problem. regarding tent camps, if i should ever become homeless i certainly would prefer staying in my own tent to spending the night in a shelter.

The homeless deserve dinity. Those that live there are proud of the tent city and are the ones who are trying.

People who are homeless need a place to live with at least some level of dignity.

Would you really rather have all these people wandering the streets, getting into trouble? Why is this such a problem?

It should be "a roof over every bed," but at the very least, please don't deny people this minimum of shelter while there is not enough housing for all.
