Domestic violence occurs regardless of age, gender, race, sexuality and status. The reported incidents of DV are increasing and action must be taken to end this ABUSE!!!

I believe that domestic violence is highly under reported and is not named enough in the press. It is about time that this is spoken about openly, in order to recognise and acknowledge what is happening behind closed doors.

Let's not excuse this terrible crime any more. Let us call it violence - because that is what it is - whether it is seen or unseen, in the home or elsewhere.

Having met abused women through street projects and in refuge, I am disressed that women continue to be kiled in their own homes by their partners every single week. We must raise awareness of this problem by calling it what it is. Domestic violence.

Domestic Violence shouldn't go un-noticed or un-punished just because so often it is 'unseen'. Please bring it to the fore, change the way you portray it and the way you react to it.

I work as a self defence trainer in west midlands and meet many women who are traped in a abusive relationship. It takes a woman long time to decied take steps to leave home after considering lots of optios such as her kids, money, culture, lose of family and friends. Lets support them women who are ready to leave the DV relations and protct them kids who are suffering in silence event after years. Let put some real support in place for young children or even youths who have witnessed the DV at very regularly. I was in 21 yrs of mental abuse marriage, i finally decieded to take my 16yrs old & 19 yrs old kids and jusy give everything up and leave. 8 yrs on I have established mytself and my kids are getting on with htier lives but that mental torture for 3 of us still there. We need to make sure resources are in place to support the surviours and victims. Good luck with the petition and feel free to contact me if you need more information's 07919183268

It's really important to that it is widely recognised that Domestiv Violence kills people, usually women. It would be so helpful if the media helped get the message across throught this commitment.

If a man get killed by a women the papers are likely to call it domestic violence. People need to know what is happening. If women are being killed by their supposed "loving" partner then somone needs to step up and call it DOMESTIC VIOLENCE that is what it is, do not surgar coat it.
