Let's watch more women's sports

I, the undersigned, want to watch more women's sports. I would like to see an all women's sports channel. We have channels for the NBA, Golf, and ESPNU that shows mostly college men's sports.
The WNBA is finishing up a great season and we were lucky to see one game a week on television. There were games everyday and night and we see maybe one per week.
The Professional Softball league just finished their season and not one of the games were on television, not even the championships.
I would like to see ESPN do an ESPNW for all women's sports. So we can all enjoy women's sports.

as a major supporter of the WNBA, i would greatly appreciate the opportunity to watch more than a single weekly game that is out of the phoenix market.

I would tune in daily to a women's sports channel that showed WNBA games, women's pro soccer, women's college sports and so on. Our household is in the 80,000 to 100,000 dollar income range and we pay attention to who sponsors the programming we care about.

Please show WNBA games on TV! It is a great game and due to lack of tv coverage people are missing out!

The local news coverage of the WNBA and women sports in general is lousy to say the least. Something I notice and have been complaining about even before the WNBA came to Atlanta. Atlanta had a WNBA team that went from worst in the league to second place in their conference and got crap for coverage - not even the scores were mention when they were playing at home. ESPN, NBATV, and some of the sports south channels do throw in a few of the women college games but WNBA comes up way too short on coverage. Liveaccess sucks!

Please give us room to grow. Do we have to chain ourselves to your fences? Know your demographic trends and forecasting.More women then men, more women in higher paying college majors, and the fact that the majority of women determine what household $ is spent, and what it is spent on. Loosen the lesh you maintain on womens sports;it is Strangling women sports in its infancy!

We do in fact have many channels for mens sports and in turn women's sports is overlooked. Women are just as passionate about our sports as men are about theirs. There certainly are enough women's sports taking place year round to warrent such a channel. Some nights there were 4 wnba games taking place yet none were available on tv. So how about giving us a break, be innovative and create this for us female sport fans.

It truly disgusts me that ESPN discusses WNBA topics when Diana Taurasi gets a DUI and the Sparks and Shock have an on-court brawl. These players are amazing athletes with a wonderful league which should garner much more press on a regular consistent basis throughout the season. SHAME, SHAME on male chauvenistic pig ESPN.

I have been an avid follower of women's college and professional basketball and softball for more than a decade. It has become clear that women's sports will have a difficult time growing further as long as they hobbled by being treated as "second-rate" by the current sports channels.

I would definitely like to see more women's college basketball and softball games on tv. And the WNBA is more competetive than ever. I subscribe to NBA TV solely to watch the WNBA games that they televise. Thanks for your support.

Current sports coverage, regardless of channel, underrepresents women's sports at all levels. As a life-long women's sports fan, I find it extrememly sexist to NOT have at least one channel dedicated exclusively to women's sports.

Young boys get exposed to men playing sports but girls only see tennis, gymnastics and ice skating during their final events. How are girls supposed to know that they can work as a team and they can be active with no role models? Coverage on TV would be one way to get that exposure.

Our household would support a station dedicated to women's sports - especially one that would not be interrupted by poker, bowling or a 7th viewing a a baseball or NBA Classic game. WNBA needs the same respect that NBA has - a season w/o viewing interruption or blackouts.

Women athletes are role models for girls everywhere-why wouldn't we want to seize every opportunity to promote that ? Televising women sports can plant the seed of self confidence and help young girls believe they can achieve a better sense of self.

I have followed the wnba from the first game. It seems every year there are less games on t v. I am ALL for a espnw channel or even a wnba package. I think more exposure on tv would greatly benefit the wnba.

I agree with having a ESPNW. It would be great. The networks show to many men's sports that monopolize the stations. They try hard with women college sports, but still insufficient for women. The stations show more high school sports than they do women's professional sports especially in the case of the wnba. We need more. Go back to the WNBA Season Pass like you had in the beginning if the networks will not show more. This Live Access was insuficient in a lot of cases. lLike another person, stated I would like to sit in front of my big screen and watch the WNBA than on the computer. What happened to the big time contract that WNBA has with ESPN2, it did not serve us to well this year, and I thought NBA TV was for both leagues, but very few of the games were televised and many more were left off of the Fox Sports Networks.

Fair and equal, that's all we want. We deserve nothing less. Women athletes deserve it and have earned it. It is your responsibility to provide it. Step up!

Each time I go to a WNBA game, I see the impact that the league has on young women. The more available these games, and other professional and college women's teams are on TV, the more impact they can have.

Thanks to ESPN anrd NBA TV for playing the WNBA games that are shown and the Playoffs, too! It would be fantastic to have a ESPNW, there are plenty of women sports out there to fill a programming schedule.

Womens sports are here to stay. The WNBA is wonderful, and it might amaze you to know that a lot of men like watching the games. It's time we see more womens games on TV. The year is 2009 after all.

All levels of woman's sports are grossly under represented. There is a demand for a woman's sports network, we just need someone to fill it!

I believe women who get involved with sports at an early age are more apt to take on a leadership role in her career later in the future. Competition is empowering and builds self-esteem for all who participate. Seeing women on TV who have succumbed against the odds and succeeded as a professional athlete in a man's genre provides role models to inspire today's young women. There definitely needs to be more women sports on TV!

I believe there needs to be an all women's sports channel. There are millions of fans of women's sports who don't get the opportunity to see women's games and matches on televison because men's sports often take precendent. Having an ESPNW will allow fans to see women's games and matches, women's leagues to have a wider fan base, women athletes to have more people see their skills, and ESPN to bring in more money. There is a fan base for women's sports that deserves more that one WNBA game a week, and no viewing of other women's leagues. Let's really have an equal playing field.

Millions of young women play and support sports. Lots of us men support womens' athletics as well. More and more serious media coverage is not only needed but I believe will prove profitable if put in the proper hands. One untapped goldmine is the WNBA. On a network like ESPN-W, the league could get the exposure they need to grow. In turn as an anchor for all all womens' sports network, the WNBA could be a highlu successful venture in its own right and reap great rewards for the new network. I hope some savvy business person will read this and get a spark of inspiration. Sincerely, Nic Santiago WNBA Fanatic
