We the undersigned feel that the increase in ny state fishing licence is unfair to the weekend or occasional fisher person who may take there kids fishing or themselves for a weekend or on a charter boat fishing for trout or salmon .We need to encourage the young to enjoy fishing and the great outdoors. they say we can make a difference if we feel some thing is not right and we feel this increase is unfair.
Thank you for taking the time to  read and sign this petition i hope it will make a difference.

I grew up in NY and now live in Florida, I go back home every summer and travel to the St lawrence river (1000 Islands)for fishing and boating, to take advantage of Non-residents and have them pay an outrageous price increase is not they way to "bring in tourism" to the state, this will only send them else where for their family vactions, WAKEUP Governor Paterson. YOU are making people HATE NY.

I Have been fishing the Adirondacks for over 30 years but this is now out of control since I am sure these revenues are not going back to sustain the recreation enviroment. How can the politicians be so short sighted? Think of all the money lost to local businesses along with the tax revenues created thru motels, and other sales? Perhaps i will spend some time fishing in Pennsylvania.

We shouldn,t have to pay more since we have been fishing for years on that price.maybe a dollar raise but not ten thats crazy.

Fishing was free back in the day, now you have too pay to fish. i dont mind cause I know it helps. I buy my sportsmen licence every year and pay enough and dont need to pay more.

I have to say that increasing the license to 70 dollars a year will certainly remoce all of the non resident anglers from your $$$. This is almost double what we currently pay to fish NY state waters/

If the licence fee goes up to $70 for non-resident, I will spend my time on Lake Simcoe rather than New York State.

I just persuaded 4 of my friends to buy your NY non residence fishing license this year. We Seldom fish your waters, but was hoping to try more often this year. By increasing the non residence fee to an unreasonable amount, it will not only discourage us from going across the border to do our fishing, but will also prevent us from spending money for other miscellaneous expenses such as food, or supporting your local NY fishing store.

The number of young anglers is already in decline, increasing fees is just going to hurt those that can marginally afford a license now.

Bang the salt guys for money, not the freshwater guys who are already paying too much. And lets see the money actually go towards conservation and maintenance and not line the pockets of some politician.

There are many more ways to aquire more funds to boost the state's economy than raising the fishing license fee.Try taking a fed pay cut for elected officials for instance. Every one of you is over paid.

Now is not the time to raise fishing license fees. Many NY sportsmen are unemployed or struggling to make ends meet.I live in northern NY and alot of people up here hunt and fish to provide supplemental food for their families.

My family and I already put quite a bit of money into the LOCAL {Sodus Point, Wayne County} ECONOMY. We do this through gas, food, lodging, dock fees, tackle, derby fees, and other entertainment when the lake it too rought to fish. It is expensive enough now.

It is already expensive for my family to drive from the philadelphia, pa area to spend our vacation dollars in New York.

Wake up New York before its to late. We are alreadr paying over 50% of our income on taxes and now they're going after the Trout/Salmon sportsmen. Whats next, a tax on bird watching. When is enough, enough? Maybe we should look at cutting the salaries of the politians. I knew we were in trouble when the powers to be were indifferent to the taxpayers delimma. I do not think raising the fee for a fishing license will help increase revenue for the state in fact it may have the opposite effect because fisherman spend a lot of money on food, lodging, gas, and fishing tackle when something isn't broken don't fix it. They have cut the budget to the DEC and are stocking less trout and salmon and then you want to raise the fees it doesn't take a brain surgeon to tell this is going to be a hard sell tourism will suffer count on it.

"Why punish the Trout/Salmon Sportsmen"? After all, ...the "pen Rearing" would be a dismal failure, if it were not for the dedicated Trout/Salmon Sportsmen and Charters! There the ones, that every spring.....take care of the "Babies" ... and see that they get out into the lake "safely"! There will be NO TROUT/SALMON IN LAKE ONTARIO OR TRIBUTARIES...if we loose there dedication, interest and "oh yes" ...their money! How's that working for ya... "tax genius"? This is completely unfair to tax by a particular species. Yet more money to fish and hunt on the "King's Land".

By putting an additional tax on the fishing license you already pay for, will cause people to quit fishing. It will be a shame if this passes, being retired and now having to pay extra tax on an already fixed income.

This is highly regressive and will hit middle and low income sportsmen the most.

There is "no Doubt", that this added Trout/Salmon stamps sole purpose is to "discriminate" .... against a minority of sportsmen/fishermen. After All, who wants those people fishing around my docks, or getting in the way of my sail boat, or tromping up and down my stream frontage, or Charters "catching " all my fish out of my lake, ....Etc. I would like to remind those brilliant minds that came up with this tax idea.... that, without the "Trout/Salmon" fishermen's money & dedicated effort with the "Pen Rearing" ....THERE WOULD BE NO TROUT/SALMON ...in Lake Ontario!! Consider that loss into your "great Idea"! 1st. Mate Doris Rutty - Bag Lady.
