We would like to thank each and every one of you for your signatures and support. We have hit a road block as of this moment. We will continue to fight this. We are waiting while HUD does their investigation and working on other options as well. We still ask for your support and really appreciate all of your thoughts, comments, and suggestions. Feel free to e mail us with any help or information. We would still love to move out of this town but due to the money we have put into this fight we can not do that at this time. Anthony is regressing more and like i said we will continue this fight as long as we have to. We will get Loopey back to Anthony one way or another wether it is by some how getting the city to help or by moving out of this town if we come up with the funds to do that. We just hope we can do one of them as soon as possible for our son's sake. Thanks again and God Bless you all.

We the undersigned are asking for a change in the city of Fayetteville ordinance as it pertains to Pigs in the city limits. We understand that it states that no Hog should be allowed in the city limits.We are simply asking that the ordinance be amended to allow pot belly pigs as pets. we are willing to follow guidelines to insure that the city is still kept i mind. We are simply asking that one pot belly pig be allowed at a residence , not to exceed 150 lbs and 24inches in height and that the animals dwelling will be kept clean. This is not only for her well being as she is not livestock but a well natuered, loving,very smart part of this family, but also for my autistic son whom we got her for to help him. Please allow the change of the ordinance. We thank you and appreciate your time.

We had our pot belly pig, Maggie Mae Marie, for 8 years while we lived on 3506 Brownes' Ferry Road, Charlotte, NC - a residential neighborhood. Maggie was a friend to all - kids and grown-ups. She crossed the street every day to have a special lunch prepared for her by grandma and grandpa . Maggie was welcome in all the school - we had a special "Kiss the pig" contest for student's teachers - for the class with the most tickets sold - the teacher would have the "honor" of giving Maggie a big sweet kiss - proceeds all donated to schools. Please let this family have their loving pig at home with their son.

I am an owner of 3 potbelly pigs. They are wise and sentient beings. More intelligent than dogs. Very emotional and affectionate. They form strong bonds with their owners. The boy and the pig are destined to be together. For God sakes, wake up!!!

Therapy animals are allowed everywere...you better look at the people with disablities act...you can not prevent him from having the animal..that is the problem with the us anymore the gov wants to tell you what you can have and do...there are far more problems in the world that a family pet..as long as they keep the proptery clean and the animal is fed and watered and has shelter..he is fine..pigs make good pets....they are not raising him for food..he is a pet.......

I hope one day that imbeciles like the five city council members who voted to uphold the ban and not grant a variance find themselves in a situation where a little compassion would help them, and then is denied in a routine manner. Let the child keep his pig. I personally own two pot belly pigs. They make wonderful pets. Ours are clean, quiet, intelligent (ours were easily trained to use a litterbox and walk on a leash), and very affectionate. They are most definitely not "livestock" animals, as many cities claim them to be. If the pig helps the child, let him keep it. I'm sure there are much more important issues that this city council could be focused on.

There are several legal solutions to this situation that would allow Loopey to be returned to her home and owners. City Council of Fayettvile, please be pragmatic and humanitarian and reunite Anthony and Loopey. The ADA and USDA agree that domesticated pot-pellied pigs, distinguished from hogs, are companion animals that can function as service animals, as in this instance.

I have a potbelly pig who is 16 yrs. old. Potbelly pigs are no bigger than a short long dog. Their bowel movements have no odor, unlike a dog. They don't bark, have fleas. They are smarter than a dog. The Dept. of Agriculture recognizes potbelly pigs as companion animals. They have feelings and after being with this family for over a year, to be separated from them is cruel to the animal and the family. Please allow this pet to come home.

We , as a country, really need to look at the truth about pigs... they are clean, social animals...They rate highter on the IQ list than our dogs and cats and more! Ive clicker trained one! There is NO reason to deny a person ownership of a pig in the city...Let the city inspectors come out and look around and they can testify to the planning commity, and ordinance makers...Consider WHY the voters keep and love pigs.... there must be SOMETHING to it, right?? Dear Council Members, Please take time to learn about Pot Belly Pigs. The USDA has spent considerable time in their decision to classify them as COMPANION Animals. I have three House Pigs. They are easily house trained, cleaner and smarter than any dog i have ever owned. They are quiet and loving and make excellent pets and companions. Unless Fayetteville Council Members can take adequate time to thoroughly research this subject, they should adopt the decision of the USDA and Classify Pot Belly Pigs as Companion Animals.

I teach children with autism and have this to say. They have especially unique learning, socialization, and communication needs, even within the autism spectrum. I have often thought that calm, loving animals would be a wonderful way to teach them spontaneous communication and develop social and community awareness. Please consider stepping out of conventional, mid-century thought...let's start looking at creative ways to teach, care, and govern. This is a very sad story, and I sincerely hope that Anthony's pet pig is returned to him. Having a beloved pet taken away from you is always heartbreaking, and I imagine even moreso for a young autistic boy. Pot-bellied pigs are considered domesticated animals, so I see no reason why this boy's pet should be taken away from him.
