Lower Spay and Neuter Fees for Canadians

MollyMeet Molly, a domestic 10 yr old "pet" with all her teats rotted from over-breeding.
Molly is but one "pet" in millions that suffer one condition or another, directly caused by over-breeding. Once Molly's infection broke, she looked like someone had purposely cut her straight down the middle, leaving her poor nipples dangling in her wound!
Strays and Ferals suffer much the same, only their suffering is unseen, un-noticed and sometimes - much worse due to the unhealthy and stressful conditions that they live in.

Our quest is to put pressure on both Federal and Provincial Veterinarian Associations, seeking much lower fees for the cost of non-medical emergency procedures of Spaying and Neutering.

Euthanasia is costly - especially when numbers exceed those that are spayed or neutered annually. Whether a Dog or Cat, breeding patterns can easily multiply the number of household or street animals within a simple year.
If 7 out of every 10 animals, need to be surrendered for euthanasia, the cost that follows is much higher than what the cost of spaying or neutering ONE animal would be, minus the unwanted newborns.
Which procedure makes more sense?
Non Profits, Activist Groups and Governments - spend either donation money or tax payers money to solve the over population problem BUT it isn't being solved!
We want to see the problem of cost solved so that the initial results of spaying and neutering can be successful!

If you're a Breeder of a specific breed, please tell yourself that there is a Rescue Foundation that takes in your specific breed, because, there are just too many without a Home!
We must cut down in numbers, especially if it is for financial gain because fewer are sold - and animal rescues of all breeds, whether dog or cat, are on the rise.....

We the undersigned, seek your assistance with fee regulations concerning non-medical emergency procedures for Spaying and Neutering of Companion Animals.
  • - As Customers and Clients, we are pursuing parallel fees to that of the United States, for which the average fee for a Spay is approximately $65 and $30 for a Neuter.
  • - We realize the need for a governed flat fee pricing of the office visit and sterilization. This fee should be regulated across Canada, as a health necessity due to the urgent message of present day over-population.
  • - We feel that it is inhumane of the Veterinarian Association(s)  to knowingly allow unwanted births and that it is inhumane not to Spay or Neuter
  • - We feel it is inhumane to seek solutions by euthanasia of up to 10 offspring per one genetic linage of either species, within one year. This total multiplied by millions of pets, whether dog or cat, on top of stray or feral births, is horrific and inhumanely out of control.
  • - We realize the low cost and highly exploited profit of the medication required for urgently needed sterilizations
  • - We realize that the Spay procedures, are performed under general anesthesia, with 4 stitches of the fallopian tubes and up to 8 enclosure stitches. With preparation, the entire spay procedure requires approximately 20-30 minutes in time and expertise.
  • - We feel that the cost for this time and expertise is inhumane and somewhat abusive, exploiting a common non-medical emergency procedure that is performed daily by Veterinarians across the globe.
  • - We ask that hindsight be displayed on behalf of the Veterinarian Associations in setting examples for solutions. These examples will establish a healthier environment amongst pet populations for the future.
We turn to you for healthy solutions, as leaders in the health field.
As Customers and Clients, our needs and requirements are not being met, creating an unhealthy environment for ourselves and the animals that are in care.
We ask that you endorse being a part of the solution and meet the public needs for a healthier environment concerning companion animal populations.

Thank you for your time.
We look forward to the much needed changes that are stipulated governing pet care and the dire need to regulate unwanted births of companion animals and those that live in nature on the streets.
