Please consider the following ATA recommendations...the people of North Dakota need affordable transportation...the airlines need a break to give this to us. Please help us in this area...I do appreciate your attention to this matter.
ATA Policy Priorities - FAA Reauthorization
The Senate Is Considering FAA Reauthorization, but Will It Improve the Deteriorating Condition of Today's Air Traffic Control System?
The U.S. airline industry is in jeopardy. Passengers on America's major carriers see it every time they travel. Passengers are confronted with growing delays, fewer flights and rising ticket prices from rising travel costs and unfair taxes. Seven commercial airlines have declared bankruptcy since Christmas. Airlines will spend $18 billion MORE on fuel this year. Wall Street is forecasting losses of up to $12 billion for this industry for 2008.
Congress needs to ensure that any proposal will accomplish the following:
Reduce delays and cancellations by modernizing the air traffic control system
Stop unfair financial burdens on passengers - No PFC tax increase!
Require corporate jets to pay their fair share of taxes
Address skyrocketing fuel prices
Maintain the world's safest transportation system
The Future of the U.S. Airline Industry Is in Jeopardy.
