Make Chesapeake Virginia A "NO KILL" Shelter!

Every day tons of cats and dogs are killed due to over population. In Chesapeake Virginia, it is the only city in the Tidewater area that is a kill shelter, and none of the other shelters are no-kill shelters which is good, but what makes Chesapeake so different? If a stray or lost cat or dog is picked up by the pound and brought to Chesapeake Shelters, they are put to sleep in 5 days unless adopted, when Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach and Suffolk are not kill shelters if these poor animals are not adopted within 5 days. A huge percentage of these cats and dogs are lost animals, and by the time the owners get to the shelters, their cat or dog has already been put to sleep (killed). Yes, there are tons of stray cats and dogs in all areas in every state, but killing them is such a horrible thing to do. Why not let animal lovers help take care of these lost and/or stray pets and let them help find homes for these innocent animals? MANY people out here would love to help take care of and help find homes for these poor cats and dogs, myself included. The thing is, we would need a little help in supplying food and litter as well as making sure they have their rabies shots, and if the cost wasn't so much money. I know many more people would step up and help out with taking care of and finding homes for these innocent animals. And if that isn't approved of, I still think keeping Chesapeake a kill shelter is just so wrong! Why only Chesapeake? Why are all the other cities kill free shelters? All animals deserve a chance at life and need to find a good home where people would love to take care of them, give them the love and attention they so much need and deserve. What if you were born, a human that is, and your mother put you up for adoption and the father was out of the picture. So you went from foster home to foster home and nobody wanted to adopt you. A few weeks/years went by and still, nobody adopted you. What then? Would it be humane to "put you to sleep" because nobody wanted to adopt you? Well, it's the same exact way with these innocent cats and dogs! They didn't ask to be born as well as human beings, and to end the life of an animal or a human because nobody wanted to adopt them is just plain crazy and so very wrong! God created all of us, people, cats, dogs, snakes, bugs, all of us, and I strongly believe that God and only GOD has the right to end ones life, not people. And when people end the life of a cat or dog because nobody adopted that poor cat or dog within 5 days is so morally wrong in many people's eyes and most importantly, in God's eyes! So please Virginia, especially residence in Chesapeake, Virginia, stop the killing of innocent cats and dogs! Give them a chance at life, to feel what it's like to be loved and to love back, to play with a string or to fetch a ball. All these poor, innocent creatures want is a chance to live and a chance to love and be loved. Will you please help them and give them what little they want please? Please put an end to "Kill-Shelters" period please! How would you like it if it was you?
