Make leaders behave in the common interest

Too often, people feel powerless to change leadership in politics, in business, in religious institutions and in all walks of life.  However, we all have huge individual power if we follow and act upon what we believe in.

For too long, we have suffered leadership which has been dishonest, has manipulated people into war & poverty, has made increasing amounts of money for already well-off people at the expense of those with nothing and has behaved with disrespect to those who vote for them, buy from them and are influenced by them.

Lets tell the world's political, religious & business leaders, and all those in authority, that we are not willing to tolerate this behaviour any more and that we will ensure that leadership is accountable for its behaviour by voting only for parties whose policies and actions we truly believe in, spending only with those companies who show a commitment to our environment and the people in it and by refusing to accept that any means other than peaceful ones can possibly have a positive outcome for all concerned.   We will petition, protest, cajole, use our spending power, conscience, pressure and whatever legal means possible to ensure that this becomes a reality.

Dear World Leaders

We the undersigned, feel that in the past, too many people have felt powerless to change leadership in politics, in business, in religious institutions and in all walks of life.  However, we all have huge individual power if we follow and act upon what we believe in.

For too long, we have suffered leadership which has been dishonest, has manipulated people into war & poverty, has made increasing amounts of money for already well-off people at the expense of those with nothing and has behaved with disrespect to those who vote for them, buy from them and are influenced by them.

We are no longer willing to tolerate this behaviour and intend to ensure that leadership is accountable for its behaviour.   We will be relying on you, as a leader in your field to act responsibly and with a social conscience so that you continue to make profits and to live well, but also act honestly and openly so that others less well off can benefit from your work.   This isn't just fluffy ideology, it can be done and shone be done by all decent human beings.

From now on, we will be voting only for parties whose policies and actions are truly honest and for the general good, spending only with those companies who show a commitment to our environment and the people in it and will be refusing to accept that any means other than peaceful ones can possibly have a positive outcome for all concerned.   We will petition, protest, cajole, use our spending power, conscience, pressure and whatever legal means possible to ensure that this becomes a reality.
