Making Schools go Green.

Lets face it, the planet is suffering right now, and we all know it. But, luckily there are ways that we, the people, can stop and save it! Too bad nobody is taking in the consideration of what could happen if we don't. Some schools are going green, I know this. But heres the thing, how many schools are actually sticking to it? I mean keeping the recycling bins or using less energy or little things like that? You tell me. I know for a fact my school is not. I attend Cocke County High School located in Newport, Tennessee. We do have recycling bins but almost none of the teachers encourage our student body to use them. God knows that we have the vending machines. So many things including plastic, paper, and bottles get thrown away everyday when they could very well be recycled. And, teachers could turn off the lights on very sunny days, every classroom has windows. So many things could be done or changed and nobody is doing it! I'm sorry, but as you can see, I'm an eco freak. So sign this,and I will show this to the school!

You're right! I've noticed a similar problem in my school. I go to Warren Middle School in New Jersey. In the cafeteria, I found plastic water bottles in the trash can--some of them still half full! Energy is being somewhat wasted as well. We have recycling bins, but not a lot of paper go in there. And I do find some paper in the trash can. What is with people these days?

Yes, I underwrite this. I think it's a big problem when school isn't educating our children as we hope and expected they would. There is no 'green' cantine if any that contains healthy food, the waste is taken for granted and when you ask to sign a petition, like mine did with my petition(http://www.thepetitionsite.com/7/stop-the-trawler), they feel like we set them up or remark so stupidly I wonder who has to be taught. It's not a discussion that's going on in the halls or classrooms of school. Which is strange since climate change is a bigger threat to our way of life than any terrorist threat.
