Mandatory 6 Month Moratorium On All Breeding in Miami

The Miami-Dade Animal Shelter is overwhelmed with animals. 21,000 animals have been euthanized in 2010. The economy has not helped this situation. Many forclosures force people to give up their animals.
There was a rally in downtown Miami that brought this situation to the forefront of the news. The activists were critical of the shelter.
A six month moratorium will possibly slow down the rate of animals coming in so that they can better focus on making changes there.
We the undersigned, would like to see a six month moratorium on all animal breeding in Miami-Dade County to help to slow down the number of animals flowing into the MDAS shelter so that less animals will be forced to be put down there. It will also give MDAS a chance to see if any changes can be made to the shelter or a campaign could be started to lessen the impact of homeless animals on the shelter.
