Since the Xbox 360 launched in 2005 with the Hard Drive being an "accessory" Microsoft has unlocked the potential uses of this "accessory" for things like a large digital photo and or music library, downloadable content repository, Netflix streaming media player and games on demand storage.
The upgrade SKU's have always been extremely overpriced in most consumers opinion and have been assumed to be a way for Microsoft to makeup for the financial loss on each Xbox 360 manufactured. Now with this system being 4 years old and Hard Drives being so inexpensive we the undersigned are asking Microsoft to bring their additional storage prices in line with the competition.
You've given us a way to purchase tons of content (Music, Videos, Movies, Game Add-ons, and full downloadable Games) from Xbox Live. Now it's time give back to the community and lower the price of your storage options!
