The Millikens have been Generals in the on-going battle to protect Michigan's environment. Their name evokes images of courage, vision, and hard, persistent work in the name of environmental protection. More now than ever, Michigan needs to fight for our environment. Recognition of their leadership by naming a state forest or state natural area for them is not only a fit tribute but an inspiration to the rest of us to continue their work.
