Minn. Twins Stadium: Security Guard or Biblical Enforcer? Twins employee harasses women

  • by: M. Kennedy-Adams

Minneapolis Twins Target Stadium is continuing to employee a man who threatened to evict 2 attendees, stating "Here in the stadium, we adhere to the 10 Commandments", when he witnessed a brief kiss between two adults. Why? They were both women.

The employee is also reported to have said, "You can't do that" and "We don't play 'grab ass' here", apparently certain in his authority to evict two members of the public for a mild and brief  show of affection.

Does this employee seem to be appropriate for an environment that depends on public money? Does he appear to respect civil rights? Would you want this person in a position of authority in a place you'd take your family for fun?

This security guard deserves no such authority, as he clearly misunderstands his duties and his judgement is untrustworthy. The Director of Public Affairs, Kevin Smith, has stated that the security guard will continue to work there. Let him know what you think of that decision.
ZERO TOLERANCE for harassment and discrimination at the Twins Target Stadium!
Dear Mr. Smith,

We, the undersigned, appreciate the response you have given to questions regarding the security guard employed at the Twins Target Stadium whose actions have brought unpleasant attention to your organization.

Such personal bigotry and harassment should not be tolerated. And though your public statements agreed on that point, the fact remains that this employee has been protected from the consequences of such actions.
Your employee has shown he is lacking the judgement necessary for his current job. An organization which depends on the goodwill of it's patrons ought to correct this problem by, at a minimum, transferring this person to a position where he cannot again misuse authority that you have vested in him.

Thank you for your time and attention to this letter,
