Bring College GameDay to the Monon Bell Game

Bring College GameDay to the Monon Bell Game

Target:
ESPN's College GameDay
As students, alumni, and friends of Wabash College and DePauw University know, the Monon Bell football game is a fantastic rivalry. A tradition with a long and storied history, we want ESPN's College GameDay to visit this year's game. This movement, a grassroots effort led by students at both colleges (see: http://bit.ly/2fOQgG), needs your support. Please sign our petition which we will deliver to ESPN.

We, the undersigned, believe that this year's 116th Monon Bell Game would be the perfect setting for ESPN's College GameDay. This game has all the ingredients of fantastic show - the sort of legendary stories that we've come to expect of all of the best college rivalries, a long and unique history, and the ability to ignite strong passions among the students, alumni, and friends of the two schools year after year. Your program would help this historic rivalry achieve some well-deserved exposure and would provide a fantastic backdrop for your broadcast. We thank you for considering our request and we look forward to working with you to make this a reality!

A great opportunity for this game to inspire fans nationwide of football with a small town rivalry. The rivalry game ranks with or higher than many of the highly covered rivalries. If you want to see love for the game and intense school spirit, be at this game.

College GameDay needs to come to Greencastle, IN and be at Monon. Alumni from around the country who can't make the trek home to DePauw or Wabash tune in at satellite parties by the hundreds. Regardless of how old you are, this weekend is on everybody's calendars. As a DePauw alumni and former football player, I will always hate Wabash - and I know Wabash will always hate DePauw - but that is being put aside in an effort to have College GameDay experience what true college football is. There is no scholarships here, no signing bonuses lingering, just pure love for the game - like college football should be.

12 longest rivalry in ALL of college football/ DePauw already clinched National playoff berth, Wabash can get an at large bid with a win/ Wabash ranked 16th in nation, DePauw has won SCAC title/ Two yrs ago = 47 yd last min FG wins game/ last yr = #2 Wabash defeated by DePauw to tie the series at 53-53-9....the stage is set, and College Gameday will DEFINITELY want to BE THERE

ESPN Gameday - college football is a sport loved by millions, and not just the fans of major universities. Bring Gameday to the Monon where a real rivalry is played year after year with no players expecting to be the next NFL star. They play it for the LOVE of the game!

Monon Bell is real sweet. It's the only time you can drink in front of cops and not get arrested for drinking in public or public intox (in Greencastle anyway. As far as I know, you can do that at Wabash every Saturday). It's amazing. Since so much drunkenness is around you, the fans are way more drunk, which equals way more awesome. Do it ESPN. I want to be on TV.

This rivalry is worthy of Gameday's attention. It is not "just a D3 game." It is the most important game of the year. The Battle for the Bell brings together alumni of both schools all across the nation for watch parties in heated (yet good-natured) environments. With a history as storied as Michigan/Ohio State, USC/Notre Dame, and Texas/Oklahoma, it's time to give Wabash/DePauw some Gameday love! P.S. Lee can put on Wally Wabash's head or the tiger head for the prediction!

additional reasons for Gameday to be in Greencastle for the bell Game. The Founders of ESPN both went to Depauw Pete Metzelaars - NFL Star went to Wabash One of the oldest rivalries in College Football That is tied after all those games... (Name me another rivalry this old that is tied?)

I believe it was my sophomore year that the Monon Bell game was first nationally televised. College GameDay should honor that tradition by visiting this years game.
