More Lighting for City Park and Surrounding Area!

There have been a number of assaults in and around Queen's Campus (Kingston, Ontario, Canada) since the beginning of the '09 semester. The most recent attack occurred at 7 p.m. on Court Street. A woman was attacked from behind and pulled to the ground. Fortunately, she was able to fight off her attacker and subsequently reported the incident to the police.

City Park and the surrounding area (including Court Street) are extremely DARK in the evening hours. At the very least, in order to prevent further incidents, the park and surrounding area should be outfitted with more lighting!

It is the City of Kingston's reponsibility to protect its citizens' rights to liberty and security of the person! Please sign the following petition if you are interested in preventing further attacks and/or assaults on Kingston's citizens via, at the very least, installing more lighting in the park and surrounding area!!!
