Mountain Top removal and Blair mountain

We all know that mountains get mined. However, George W. Bush signed a paper letting coal companies save money. The way they save the money is harmful to everyone, animals and humans. They simply blow up the top of the mountain, then push the dirt off into streams and wherever else they want without any concern.  This causes the rivers, lakes and streams to flood in communties. Not only that, but by blowing up the mountain, they are also blowing up many animals, baby animals, birds, homes. Bears are actually coming down from the mountain into north park 17 Ethel and eating out of trash cans. There haven't been any attacks thankfully. How do I know this? My family lives there and have seen these bears as have I.  Another problem is Blair Mountain. It is a historical site from an era of coal miner wars. The miners had no union and were forced to stay that way. They were made to sign oaths that they would never go union. However, they were shut off from the rest of West Virginia and didn't realize exactly what union was. Signing the paper, they soon came to see that union meant a form of work that was fair. See the non- union companies gave the miners money they could only spend at the companies stores. That meant, they couldn't rent or buy a house unless it was from the company. The companies houses were really shacks that were infested with goddess knows what and should have been condemmed.  What of the miners who caught black lung? Nothing. No medical treatment or rembursement for them dying to support the countries coal needs. The workers tried to go union and the company had hit men to assasinate anyone who dared go union. The people were afraid. Then one day, the hit men went into a county and the sheriff Chief Hattfield stopped them because they had guns. they insisted that they were the law there and Hattfield insisted money didn't make them law. So there was a shootout, the hit men drew their guns first. Called to court, he left his gun to show he was a decent man and the court was even in on this and when Hatfield went up to the court house, more hit men came and killed him, unarmed. They thought this would deter the people from revolting, but instead it angered them. There was a war on Blair Mountain and the rest is history. If you are interested, you can search for battle of blair mountain and mountain top removal.  Bush is letting them tear that down too. It's a historical land mark and yet the coal company insists they own it and are tearing it down. Last I recall, it wasn't possible to own or demolish important historical landmarks. So why is this coorperation once again above the law? To stand up to the Government and coorperations and to get them to stop killing all the animals and tearing down everything for money in heartless, illegal ways, sign this petition. Even if you aren't a West Virginian, this should concern you. It starts in small places that no one cares about, but then it spreads to the rest of the U.S.A. "Stop the needless mountain top removals when there is a decent way to do it. Stop trying to tear down historical landmarks to make your own pockets greener. " That is our message
to the government.
