This is a petition to try and get the UK release date of Twilight moved forward. This happened in the USA when Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was moved back to next summer. Twilight then took its place on 21st November 2008. This would leave a gap in movie releases in the UK that day as well, so I don't see why fans in the UK have to wait until 9th January 2009 to see it! Also, because of the length of time between the two releases, I can see some fans turning to watching illegal copies of the film online. It's hard to contain the excitement 'til November, let alone waiting until January when half the world has already seen it! All I, and many other fans are saying, make the release date the same as in America or close to it. It makes a lot of sense.

its an awesome book and movie i don't see why everyone has to wait different days to watch the movie. I also reckon that if they have a british/uk actor in it, it is more reasonable for uk to be one of the firsts to see it. This movie has been and continues to be hotly anticipated here in Ireland. At the preview screening in Dublin a few weeks ago, there was unadulterated, infatuous mania for the movie. Everyone who was blessed enough to have a ticket in their possession dressed for the occasion by adorning themselves in the trademark red-and-black colours of Twilight. It was fantastic- this sea of red-and-black and a gleeful, dizzying waft of excitement filling the whole theatre. Stephanie's trilogy of the novels are practically flying off book shelves here too- no doubt bolstered by the eagerness surrounding the movie. Irish cinemas need a dazzling dose of a subterranean-metaphysical movie like Twilight to enliven everyone's beloved cinemtic experience here. This has to be the most eagerly-awaited movie in Ireland since The Dark Knight back in the summer. PLEASE bring the release date for it in Ireland forward!!

It's so unfair that we have to wait longer. We should make the USA wait extra long to watch Harry Potter if they're going to do this with Twilight. We're just as big a fans of Twilight as they are in the US so why do we have to wait an extra month!?
The fact that people will start turning to illegal methods and try to watch it online is ABSOLUTELY TRUE and I've seen proof of that. It wouldn't have to happen if Twilight was already out in the cinemas by now like it is in America...
