Move the Construction Site away from the NIU students

This petition is to show DeKalb City Council that the students and friends of NIU and  do not want the new city police station to be located at Lincoln Hwy and Carroll Ave across from the Center for Black Studies.  We at/around NIU do not oppose the creation of a new police station in DeKalb, but demand its relocation.   Having this police station would create an uncomfortable environment at NIU and would bring negative results rather than increased safety.  As a campus we are satisfied with the number of NIU police officers and do not like the idea of an increased law enforcement presence by the addition of DeKalb police.  We the students and friends at NIU are directly affected by this new police station and it is up to this student body to move the construction site from Lincoln Hwy and Carroll Ave.
