Legalize Gay Marriage in North Carolina

This is a petition to get as much support as possible to encourage lawmakers to revise the legal definition of marriage from being exclusively between a man and a woman to including same-sex couples. The current definition specifically excludes homosexuals. This is discrimination plain and simple and a hateful idea not in line with a new era of human consciousness and compassion. The ability to marry is a right that should not exclude anyone based on sexual orientation. A new defintion that allows homosexuals to marry will not threaten the institution of marriage but only strengthen it by confirming love should never be discriminated against.

Please support this petition by adding your name. There is enough hate in the world. Why not encourage love? Support legalizing gay marriage in the state of North Carolina.
To North Carolina Lawmakers:

This petition seeks to encourage you to do everything in your power to revise the legal definition of marriage from specifically defining it as a union between a man and a woman to defining it as a union that can include same-sex couples as well as opposite sex couples. The current definition specifically excludes homosexuals. This is discrimination and not in line with a new era of compassion. The ability to marry is a right that should not exclude anyone based on sexual orientation. A new defintion that allows homosexuals to marry will not threaten the institution of marriage but only strengthen it by supporting the idea that love should never be discriminated against.
