This petition is designed for San Clemente, Ca residents who desire a new skate park facility for the city of San Clemente. The current park is designed for those just starting to skateboard and is very small for the amount of users of the facility. Please sign this petition to show you support a new skate park facility of a world class level in San Clemente. A new facility could also be designed for multiple uses such as BMX which is a current concern at the current skate park. The current park features very small obstacles and limits the progression of riders. A new facility or expansion of the current facility should include advanced features such as bowls, vert, large street plaza, etc. The town hosts world class surf contests and could incorporate a world class skateboard contest if a quality facility was built. Events such as these could generate funds to offset building and maintenance costs.

Skateboarding is the fastest growing sport in the country and there are currently 13 million skateboarders in the U.S. Just as one basketball court isn't enough for a large community of basketball players, neither is one skate park enough for San Clemente's huge community of skateboarders. Thanks.

i have skated this park for many years and it always seems very crowded it is never vacant and if it was built bigger than we could have more kids skateboarding and less kids out on the streets doing drugs this would be a great thing an have a huge impact on the community
