No Food Additives

The Canadian government proposes a new food additive Asparaginase to be put into almost everything we eat. We have until February 21, 2010 to say no!

Asparaginase  is a commonly used cancer fighting agent. The side affects of this stuff are:
Fever, chills, nausea and vomiting, allergic reaction, (sudden onset of wheezing, itching, rash, face swelling, agitation, low blood pressure). Poor appetite, stomach cramping, central neurotoxicity: excessive sleepiness, depression, hallucinations, agitation, disorientation or seizure.  Stupor, confusion and/or coma.

Asparaginase is manufactured by big drug companies and the use of this enzyme is already approved in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand and Denmark.  This is actually part of the World Health Organization's "Codex Alimentarius" a world-wide food control plan. http://www.codexalimentarius.net/web/index_en.jsp

These companies are lobbying the government to put this stuff in our foods:
* The Baking Association of Canada (BAC)
* McCain Foods (Canada)
* The Enzyme Technical Association (ETA)
* Frito Lay Canada
* Food and Consumer Products of Canada

Health Canada says this stuff is safe and is burned off in the cooking process. However, Asparaginase is not proven to be safe or unsafe. There is just no compelling reason to warrant this stuff in our food.

Speak up now to stop this food additive. Help us send a message to the Federal Government of Canada that we do not want this in our foods!

Dear Canadian Federal Government:

We the undersigned do not want any "Asparaginase" or "Asparaginase like" substance added to our foods or food products.
