No Go! To Edited Release of Huck Finn

This isn't about changing a word or two for the sake of political correctness. MY ANGER IS ABOUT THE FACT HE CAN CHANGE THE BOOK, AND NO ONE IS STOPPING HIM. See what is really happening here? Mark Twain DID NOT write the word "slave", "Indian", or "half-blood". Alan Gribben and NewSouth books are testing the waters. They are changing history. In a generation or two, no one will ever know what was done to Huck Finn. But, by that time, if rewriting of history continues, the past will not be our past but some little man's idea of what the past should be until the truth fades away. HAS ANYONE READ 1984?????? Can you not see what can and will be the ultimate outcome down the road, if  he is allowed to change another man's words, re-write a 100 year old masterpiece to "fit in" with some nonsensical idea that this language and behavior never happened, and a publishing company that will go along with it? "He who controls the present, controls the past. He who controls the past, controls the future" (1984).  This country should be in an uproar. I have seen my enemy, and it is Alan Gribben and NewSouth Books publishing.

"We the undersigned, are appalled at the idea of revising an American classic, and one of America's greatest novels, Huckleberry Finn, to reflect Alan Gribbens' idea of how the history of the south should be depicted. We, the undersigned, are appalled that NewSouth Books would even consider publishing the censored novel.
We, the undersigned, demand that Auburn University at Montgomery be aware that Dr. Alan Gribben, employee of that establishment, is rewriting history so the past will not be our past until the truth will fade from memory.
