No Guns in Schools!

No Guns in Schools!

Target:
San Diego County Board of Education & Board of Supervisors
Military science courses (i.e., JROTC) are now taught in most San Diego City high schools. They are not required to include weapons training, yet many of them have high-powered pellet gun ranges on school grounds. This is despite the school district's zero-tolerance weapons policy and community efforts to teach young people NOT to use weapons.

Children who are taught to use weapons and violence to solve problems will not always enter the military. Some will make violence their civilian career and they may not remain in San Diego -- they could settle anywhere in the world and commit violent crimes. This is NOT what we want to teach our kids.

We the undersigned ask that the San Diego County Board of Education and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors strictly enforce the zero-tolerance of weapons policy and bar ALL weapons from school grounds. It is self-defeating to search kids for weapons with metal detectors at the doors and then issue them weapons inside.

No guns in schools! What a shame America has come to putting police officers and gun control in schools. It once was a safe haven. No wonder there is more home schooling today than ever before. Any children in schools who have a gun should be sent for psychoanalysis and their parents background checked. This doesn't come from nowhere. There is always an underlying reason why these kids are committing these crimes.

A buncn of Kids, all with guns drawn, all look alike. They'll be shooting each other in no time... while the real shooter is nowhere near them. Imagine the cops trying to figure out which kid with a gun is the ''bad guy'' ?

Violence just get to more violence. A school is not a place for weapons. A school is a place for knowledge. Pellet rifles are not considered firearms until they injure somebody.~
