No Lemon in my tea, please!

No Lemon in my tea, please!

Target:
Restaurants and staff
Sponsored by:

As avid tea drinkers in most restaurants, we must take a stand on the unneccessary addition of lemon in our tea.

They are touched by bartenders and wait staff as they are placed in your drink allowing exposure to germs and diseases.

"A total of 25 different types of germs were found on 53 out of the 76 lemons that were sampled. Some were fecal in origin (either from dirty fingertips of the restaurant employees, or from meat-contaminated cutting boards and knives), while others were types commonly found in saliva, on the skin and in the environment." -MSNBC

Even though we didn't ask for lemon in our tea, our tea still tastes like lemon because it is placed directly in our drink.  We also end up drinking and even choking on the seeds we were never expecting.

Most of these unused lemons end up laying on the table ready to be swept into the trash.  This is a waste of food and money.  Please ask us if we would like lemon in our tea before serving!

Thank you.

We the undersigned would like to be asked before lemon is placed directly in our tea.  If we want germs, diseases, food waste, lemon flavor, and stray seeds we will ask YOU for lemon.

We would like to save ourselves the aggravation as well as your establishment the food cost that such a wasted precious food causes each and every day.

Thank you!

One test of lemons served at a restaurant reported "a total of 25 different types of germs were found on 53 out of the 76 lemons that were sampled. Some were fecal in origin (either from dirty fingertips of the restaurant employees, or from meat-contaminated cutting boards and knives), while others were types commonly found in saliva, on the skin and in the environment." There is no reason this should be served to patrons!
