I just recently heard the news that Nickelodeon & Mattel are planning to give Dora a make over, she'll be transformed into a tween fashionista. This is to petition that action and keep Dora a wholesome image for our children.

Please don't make Dora the Explorer into a tween. We love her just the way she is and the image she represents. Dora is a wholesome icon for our preschoolers. I'd hate to see her as another "Bratz" or "Barbie". I personally, in my own home, plan to boycott Dora the Explorer if this "change" follows through. I will never buy any Dora merchandise and I will refuse to let my children watch her shows anymore.
We signed the "No Makeover for Dora the Explorer" petition!

I am a teenager who has definitely grown out of the Dora The Explorer age. Even though i am a teenager now, i still watch Dora when i get the chance because she is such a smart and curious girl. She eximplifies a young girl who doesn't need material things, who is smart and deserving. I cannot even believe that someone would think to change her so that the audience will continue to watch, that is not the problem. I hope that they think to reconsider this decision and keep Dora the young, smart, curious girl she is.

If Dora has to grow up, please keep the young Dora as well, My little brother enjoys watching both Diego and Dora, and I would like to be able to show my baby girl that we don't have to hurry to grow up, that we can enjoy life not just sitting in front of the TV, but running outside,(that's what they learn by watching young active caracters). DON'T CHANGE DORA TO A TWEEN and CANCEL THE YOUNGER DORA!!! PLEASE LEAVE THE YOUNG DORA!!!

I have a 2year old daughter who adores Dora. She is one of few english speaking girls, who can now count in spanish at her age. Change Dora to a teenager is just another way for the media to force our children to grow up faster than time needs them to. Turning them in the PARIS HILTON'S and the LINDSEY LOHAN'S of the world. They need something to remind them of who they are and at what age. Dora keeps them innocent, fun-loving, and wholesome. She keeps them smiling, laughing, and most important learning. YOU MAY NOT CARE ABOUT OUT CHILDREN MATTEL...BUT WE DO. AND WE WON'T SUPPORT A CHANGE THAT DOESN'T BENEFIT OUR FUTURE(THE CHILDREN)

It's been refreshing to let my daughter watch such an atypical role model as Dora. That you would Barbie-ize this little girl and render her yet another Brat is appalling and distressing to parents. If you want to create another character that looks like every other cartoon girl, go ahead but leave the one decent little girl alone.

My four year old son has always enjoyed Dora the Explorer. It was a nice, wholesome role model who loved outdoors and adventure. The show was a refreshing change from the rest of market driven cartoons that promote the materialistic world we live in today. I'm appalled at just another streamline market consuming this innocent character which represents a way of life other than glam girls. Thanks for conforming and taking character away from my son. Thinking that you will expand your market to older girls, you just lost the male audience.

My daughter has been growing up with Dora and absolutely loves her the way that she is. I really don't think that she should change.

Leave Dora as it is! Don't take that away from our kids! This is one of the few nice, innocent characters there still are, if our kids want to watch something like what you are trying to do, the bratz are out there! Think about our children, not just your ratings!! :(

I support the no makeover for Dora the Explorer petition because I believe aging Dora, is just one more thing that society is doing to steal our children's childhood / innocents. I just feel that society these days want our kids to grow up entirely too fast.

my daughter is 4 years old, under NO circumstances will i want her to look at that slutty version of a cartoon character she loves and looks up to and want to be just like the slutty version you are trying to pass, that is totally ridiculous!! i am outraged! we don't need to have our daughters want to grow up so fast and wanting to look like that! a child needs to be a child for heaven's sake. Next thing we hear is that a pregnant version of Dora is coming up.

First of all, if she were a real hispanic lady, her measurements would probably not be the ones suggested. Can we please leave somethings to memory of a great diverse childhood, or at least be realistic in our illustrations.

I recently picked up a magazine and was almost more disappointed at Dora's new look than my child. She was completely unrecognizable. Every year Dora gets new viewers who have no idea about her signature style. Why change it?! She is an icon and looks more like her viewers than probably any other character on television. Giving her what you call a "makeover" is not going to raise your viewing or the age of her audience. My child watches her on Noggin every day and I feel even their ratings will go down. I dont see what good will come of this. Do Not Change Dora!!

Terrible just terrible! I am completely apalled at what they are trying to do. My four year old loves Dora and that is what Dora is targeted towards young kids still at home. DON'T CHANGE HER!!!

All 3 of my children LOVE Dora. Unfortunately, they won't be watching her anymore after this "transition." Tweens have Hannah Montana and endless other oversexed shows...LEAVE DORA ALONE!!
