No More Monkeys Imported for Cruel, False "Research"!

We feel that the capture and breeding of wild non-human primates from Mauritius for import into the United States or any other nation for the purpose of "scientific research" is an unconscionable abuse and subjects those primates to lives of unmitigating hell. We also feel that the value of such experiments are dubious at best and do not merit the destruction of other living, sentient beings, particularly some of our closest relatives.

We call upon Dr The Honourable Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius to reverse his government's approval of this plan.  We also call upon him to institute a complete ban on the export of ALL non-human primates for any reason.

Please read the letter for further information.
Dr The Honourable Navinchandra Ramgoolam ,Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius

Most honourable sir,

We call upon you to reverse your government's decision to allow the capture and export of your wild primates. The United States as well as all other nations currently conducting invasive "research" on non-human primates will never seek, find, nor use non-animal methods if everyone continues to supply live animals for their purposes.  Animal testing is notoriously inconclusive and results obtained are not repeatable nor are they applicable to saving human life.

In fact, more people die each year due to relying on faulty animal results than would if we didn't act at all.  Drugs are constantly being recalled as unsafe for humans BECAUSE we rely on animal testing.  There ARE other methods available, but governments need to be forced to use them.  You can help.  Please visit this site to learn more: http://madisonmonkeys.com/  You'll be able to see what you would be sentencing your monkeys to.  There are so many other ways to benefit your country than to export its living members. Utilize them to increase eco-tourism. Please don't sentence them to die in cruel, meaningless tests that help no one.

We are counting on your help. Please.
