No New Approvals for Tar Sands Developments

No New Approvals for Tar Sands Developments

Target:
Citizens of the world
We, the undersigned, represent diverse interests and individual priorities to our concern about the future of Alberta. We represent {environmental, social, conservation, labour, health, treaty rights, forestry, land use, humanitarian, water and economic concerns}; but we are united in our concern about the impact that out-of-control development of the oil sands is having on all areas of the province.

We are calling, with one voice, for the Alberta Government to take the first step for a cessation of new oil sands approvals and lease sales. The time is now to stop the uncontrolled oil sands development and deal with the environmental and social concerns that it has created.

Regardless of the reason, there is one thing we all agree on - the first step is to stop adding to the problem.

No new approvals on oil sands development!

The greed machine will destroy our planet and everyone on it with a smile. Thanks to meat puppet presidents with false hope and empty promises. This kind of parasitic mentality this world can do without. Just another example of the great supper power reminding us of what the planet and everything on it is worth to them.

Because no matter where you live, the damage caused by the tar sands is affecting us all, west to east, north to south.

Tar sands are no sustainable solution, instead money should be invested in more innovative and decentralized energy solutions that have a smaller impact on the environment. So no to tar sands!

I am a sixteen year old individual who cares about the environment. My generation are the future leaders of the world. Is this a positive message for sustainable development? No it is not. Make the right choices and say no to tar sand developments

The hundreds of billions of dollars being spent developing the tar sands could be used to create more jobs in sustainable energy. Alberta could be an example to the world that it's possible to leave a polluting resource in the ground and to prosper. All it takes is the will. You have the support of the majority of Canadians.

Although I understand the energy crisis facing humanity, I find the lack of humanity shown towards the local populations and wildlife, the environmental impact, and the energy inefficiency and cost associated with this project impossible to reconcile.

lets wake up and smell the coffee. This is a terrible waste of valuable natural gas a great source of pollution across the area affected. What we really need is to change direction 180° and move away from oil as quickly as possible. Please add my voice to those who oppose further development of the tar sands thank you Robert Harvey.

The envirnmental damage caused by this process is staggering!

Imagine giant lakes of toxic, polluted water where pristine forests once stood.

It is inexcusable to pursue policiea and projects which will accelarate global warming and degrade the environment!
