Sign this petition of you are one of the MANY people with an Xbox 360 that won't display video, only sound, and are out of warranty. The problem is weird fuzzy green lines and distortion on the screen and then, when you restart the system, it won't display any video on the tv. This is annoying since it doesn't cause the "three red lights" problem but is MOST DEFINITELY a hardware failure(my opinion). Therefore, it is not covered by the extended warranty. Help me fix this problem and MAKE Microsoft extend the warranty for this problem too!!! T H A N K S

i thought it might just have been the cable waitted a month to get the money to get it didnt work so i called in found out it was in warrenty when it happened but it just ran out. i would have called in sooner but i had so much trouble the 1st time around i ordered it from dell ring of death 1st day 3 months to get it back the keep saying the didnt get it but i had the shipping confroation which i had to fax them ms could check email i sent. fixing to give in and pay the $99 IT WILL COME BACK WITH 1 YEAR WARRANTY. it not right to charge us for them using such cheap parts in the first place. i call it my money box so far $500 plus games. i wonder if i fix it how much longer till it breaks down again. sorry for the spelling.

I was in the middle of a game when it started doing this, and i haven't moved my 360 in over a year so it is not my fault.

I am experiencing the same problem and am being told it is the P4 chip and then I have seen posts that could be the lates xbox update? I am also hearing about the poor service of trying to work with the repair department of microsoft and the cost to the owner is not even worth sending it in even if it is out of warranty. Microsoft should be more responsible and proactive in satisfying customers who believe in their products and who are esponsible for the success whne it wa sreleased, by purchasing their products. Leaving customers to fend for themselves for a product that is truly enjoyable yet can not be repaired is a sin of respect or ethics in what I use to believ Microsft stood for in 'Customer Satisifaction" and "Customer Service".

I own 3 Xbox 360's. One of the three I actually bought because I was sure whichever one was used most would die. Also by the way this one is a warranty replacement not from Microsoft, but from the store I bought it at. It was a $55 2 year ext. warranty or something like that. Yep same EXACT thing you describe. Creepy green lines. NO video even when I try the regular RCA (yellow, white & red old fashioned inputs). So flickery green lines only no video on my hi-def, NO video on regular. And I've been reading on the web for about 30 minutes and it looks like there's a lot of times this has happened.

I think this is crap, Microsoft should just go ahead and redesign an entire new 360 and replace all the ones in the field.

Microsoft Reference # 1072204086 -- After several hours talking with customer support, the best they can do is refer you to the XBox Legal Group in Redmond WA. !!! This is OBVIOUSLY A HARDWARE FAILURE!

Mine was working fine till I update it from the Microsoft website...how strange, some people's died after getting repaired at the facility. May be we should all contact Waggner Edstrom--Microsoft's PR firm and see what they have to say. Us consumers have a lot more power than we think we do. Through petitions, and open marketing, i.e. emails, letters, etc. to the media, someone is bound to notice!

SAME THING JUST HAPPENED!!! WHAT ARE THE DOING TO THEIR LOYAL CUSTIOMERS? : I just had my XBox 360 video die and I'm out of warranty. I called into support and they wanted me to send my console in for $99 and they would give me a month of XBox Live (Free) and give me an additional year of warranty for free. Unless they fix my XBox for FREE, I will no longer support their console. I've had issues since I had this piece and it's now a BRICK.

They would not fix it even when I was told it was warranted by Microsoft. In less than one year video stoped working.

Got 3 red rings. Sent unit back. Got refurb. After a few months got the video problem (sound but no picture). Sent it back and got letter that they do not cover this under warranty.

I sent my xbox in once for this problem they either sent me a new/refurb box or fixed it and sent me my old one back. I had to send in my sales receipt for the first one now my fixed box is doing the same thing...
I never got the green lines or anything.. just no video

The reliability and performance of the xbox 360 is extremely disappointing. First off its loud! RED LIGHT syndrome(thankfully is was covered). I get back a damaged xbox after they fixed my red light syndrome and the disk tray does not open; Microsoft ignores my emails and calls until the warranty voids and says they wont cover it. It ate my Gears of War CD and my Ghost Re-con CD. Now the video output is bugged. WTB PS3!!!!!!!!!!!

No Video but sound, when the console heats up, picture comes back. But goes again after a while or when choosing high definition output.
1 Month after warranty expires. Its a clear hardware failure. I didnt get the 3 red rings, and from what I read this is the main problem after the 3 red rings.

I had this same problem...what's more, although i'd never previously had any problems with the 360, it conveniently happened the first time I used my console after the warranty ran out (2 days after), and less than 10 seconds after downloading a "console update" from xbox live!!!!!!!
Hmmmmm.......suspicious!

I've had this Xbox360 elite for 8 months. While playing GTA4, the picture suddenly assumed a distorted purple tint. We re-started the game, but had the same results. So we tried turning off the system and restarting, but then no video would display at all. Gamestop checked the console and confirmed the console is dead. No ring of death. We have no kids; the console has never been abused in any way.

I am shocked that Microsoft will not fix my broken console for free. I have been dealing with this issue for almost three weeks now and what sad about it is my GTA 4 is still in the packaging since my XBox wont work. I knew I should have went with a PS3. Thanks alot Microsoft.

I have 30 games, 4 wireless controllers, ive prolly spent about 1800 bucks on this crap, i had the 360 for about 15 months. the machine wasnt abused in any form. im not paying to fix it. i may sell everything but the console and try the ps3 the only reason i got the 360 was the price difference, but if it dont work or you have to pay to fix it a few months after warranty expires whats the use?

I've already spent about 80$ in different cables for my 360 trying to fix the problem(which may not be much to Bill, but to us average working folk, thats a full days work)...I previously threw away my dvd player when i GOT the 360 thinking I wouldn't have a problem and if i did, i figured the warranty would cover it and I would get it back in a week without problem. Now i'm being told that I have to pay an extra 100$ on top of what i already bought trying to fix this (thinking that because I had no red lights it MUST be my TV...stupid me apparently) only to find that it really is a hardware problem and NOT my TV. I'm just glad I didn't go out and spend even MORE money on a new television (which i WAS about to do until a good friend let me borrow his dvd player and I realized that it really was 360 HARDWARE FAILURE).

While playing a game my screen started to turn green and purple, eventually, the entire screen turned black meaning that this is certainly a hardware problem with the console. My suspicion of hardware trouble was proven when I wasted an extra 20 dollars on new audio\video cables for a problem that Microsoft should have prevented before selling this product to me. If the 3 rings constitutes an extended warranty then this problem that we are experiencing, which was obviously caused by shoddy materials, should also be covered.
